  2. well man you are not making sense. you say u were researching the colby line for a couple months but in all reality u can find out all you need to know about the colby line in a few hours or a day.. maybe you were just trying to make conversation or something..but the colby line is probally the purest and the best, most honest as far as the registration papers go.. they were started by j.p colby back in 1890s or something like that.. he lived in newbury port mass which was a ship port town .. j.p colby started getting dogs that were coming from ireland and started breeding these dogs and created his own line which his family breeds till this day.. he had many famous fighting dogs and just about every modern day american pitbull terrier if you go back far enough you will find colby in their pedigree.. many famous dogs had colby in them like jeep, lopsays dogs, heinzles dogs, and on and on.. hope this sums it up 4 you

I"m interested in any research on the Colby line. I have a Colby dog (rescued off the street) and I brought her to visit Louis. He was amazed that she actually was a Colby dog.
Am currently writing about the social history of the breed, beginning in the 19th century--Newburyport.

If you have to ask that question do not bother getting a Colby dog.
