while studying a dogs back ground ,how many long hours during your pedigree research have you stayed up counting how many times certain dogs were in a pedigree? or exactly where on a pedigree did they line up?..

well ladies and gentlemen, i'm proud to say that those long nights are just about over .
now with our new private 4-7 generation pedigree data base ,you can easily get all these facts with just a simple click of a button,
we've added a new ten generation ped stat feature that helps give you a better understanding of how your dog is really bred,it gives you an exact count of every dog with in ten generations, it also displays which generation a certain dog is in your pedigree(billiards) and exactly how many times in that generation(red number)...
    here is an example pic..

here is an example public link ,just click ped stats to view it in its entirety.

IMO ,these new unique ped stat features alone are a break through in pedigree research, and is just one of many new features we have implemented in our new and improved pedigree data base..
we will be opening our doors soon so keep an eye out for our go live date and please come join us and take your pedigree research to a whole new level.. thanks for your time everyone and god bless...

dude seriously you have no clue what you're talking about not even a little

and to the OP i don't think i have spent over minutes on ped stats because that is not what i am looking at when i look at my dogs

I spent a whole lot of days studying peds. Then I woke up and realized the most important stats were not ten generations back or even six. The most important "stats" were the first two and like someone here says "why they were bred". Good luck with your site, even if it is something you can do with a pen, paper and simple math skills. Lucky for you most folks here are not capable of using these things.

exactly my friend what percentage of w/e blood is back in the ped don't mean shit unless you breed for pretty peds anyway

Have never stayed up to count how many times a certain dog was in one of my pedigrees. Only really care about the first 4 generations myself. Nice tool i suppose but its really only a benefit to those who chase dead dogs and people who peddle. I like the layout though and good luck to you with it.

My question is this.....there are hundreds and thousands of different peds out there, how do plan on adding them all?

many of us have had those long days or nights studying peds my friend, you must know that when you're studying certain family of dogs ,like for instance TDK ,patricks ,mims or leblanc, sometimes they aren't so easy to read, these are real breeding programs with many different siblings involved and it can get quite confusing at times.. so it's just nice to be able to get a better view of a program and see where and how everything lines up...
it was actually one of these type of nights that inspired us to finally nip this problem in the bud once and for all....
why go back to that old pen and paper now, when you can easily get all this info with just a click of a button?

many have already contributed with pedigrees, now we are hoping that you as the user will continue to add and help keep the site current and updated ..

thanks agame, i think everyone can agree that a new and improved data base is long over due..and this ped stat feature we dicided to show case to you guys and gals is just one of many new features we have implimented in our system..now it isn't just to see if your hound is 62% macho buck..now it can also help aid and assist more in your pedigree research.

i guess the site isn't going to be for everyone but everyone is welcomed, i hope you all will at least give us a shot before you decide to shoot us down..i'm sure once you get the experience that you'll love your stay..
well thanks again for all of your time and i wish you all well , take care and god bless..

can anyone answer what exactly the pedigree statistics @ peds online represents? When It lists a dog 75 % and goes on to list numerous others 50 %, 25 %.... What do the percentages represent?

This is actually a very useful tool. It pulls from the peds online database and gives a much more accurate inbreeding coefficient and percentages by going farther back than the simple peds online stats tool. (10gens vs 4) I've been using it for a while.

Lol guess I'm the odd ball I actually love hand writing pedigrees I have notebooks full of em seems like I remember em better if I write em out better then looking at em online but a 10 generation template is cool though

When I first got into the dogs, I spent many days and nights studying peds. Then one day, it hit me. Buy the pup and put the pedigree away until the dog proves itself. Then look at the pedigree long enough to decide (or guess) where the best qualities may have come from. Then, go from there. Not every dogman is a good breeder, just like a lot of breeders arent good dogmen.

That may be true, but thats assuming the pedigree is 100% correct. Good luck with that.
