Mondioring with a Bulldog

Discussion in 'Training & Behavior' started by amfpitbulls, Jan 18, 2012.

  1. Below are two videos of a registered APBT in a Mondioring trial in Greece, Europe.
In the first video there's the trial and in the second there is a closing speech of the French Judge of the trial (in France APBTs are banned).
Please don't mix the bitework in the trial with attack training! Protection dog sports is another different story and the dog you see is NOT a man biter. On the contrary he's completely social and can be left alone with total strangers.

I now work with a Sorrells male of Tatonka Kennels and aiming to better results as the dog's possilities are much higher, than the one in the videos.

Nice Job! Some weak points but it´s rare to see APBT competing in this level of Sport!
    Keep up working!

Great vid and awsome control over an amazing dog.

I wish my little staff would behave like that, he is a nightmare off lead, he jumps all over anyone or anything he see's...

Any advice would be welcome, no sarcasome please lol

So, Do you have a command for it to be okay for him to 'go at the person'? Just curious if 'your girlfriend' came up to you like that guy did, but was just playing around with you... Would your dog do the same... or does he wait for command? Hopefully I worded that question right..LOL. Im just curious if it would be possible (IF you DONT have a command for it to be OK to 'attack') that he could mistake playing around for someone attacking.

Very kewl vid. At what age did you start his training?

  8. Thank you all for your kind words!

The dog in the videos started his advanced training at the age of 2,5 years old. The only thing you have to do, to achieve a similar level of training is to attend a working dogs club and put lots of work on the dog, with patience and persistence.

I do have a command for the guard of the handler. Given the command the dog goes into a guarding mode and attacks on contact.

This dog is not an attack dog and the techniques on which he has been trained, might not be applicable on a real time attack.

I don't train bulldogs to be attack dogs and I don't think it's a good idea to do that.
