Does anyone here know of any genuine photographs of the blue paul terrier? The only pictures I can find are of drawing, and the drawings, although good, are still just that.

No, the blue paul terriers were a different and distinct breed all together. The story goes that they contributed towards the
development of the staffordshire bull terrier. They were mostly kept by gypsies and ranged in height from 50 cm to 60 cm, or 20-24 inches in height and were about 50-55 lbs. From the drawings I've found, they were really skinny and resembles apbts a lot, but with a snipey, almost shepherd like muzzle but shorter.

  10. index.jpeg This is a print of a genuine BLUE PAUL....looks very like a old type STB or pitbull to me

Yeah, that was one of the few sketches that I've been able to find. They actually do look a lot like the original staffs and the apbt except the muzzle is snipey, shorter, and tapers dramatically into a conical shape. They were also tall and very lean, much taller than most apbts today. You'd be hard pressed in finding a genuine apbt at 24 inches at the withers.

post of the day lol classic

  13. PitNoob I'd say too much info out of some drawings and scattered references...just keep the fact that a certain strain that had the grey color gene existed and that's all for me

Hello everyone. I do not think the Blue Poul has had an influence on the genetic history of our dogs (APBT & SBT). In fact, from the research I've done personally, I saw that the coat color of these dog was genetically different from that color of our breeds (of course I speak of the blue color). This genetic color difference implies that a genetic relationship between the Blue Poul and the other Bulldogs is unlikely.
