Hey I have a red pup I rescued from a negligent jerk my best guess is he just a backyard breed dog but I got lucky he has a great temperment. I was wondering if anyone could give me any constructive feed back he is 7 months old and weighs 56 pounds and stands 16 inches from front paws to shoulder. Some people say he looks good while others say he's to heavy I feed him one cup of nutro puppy dry twice a day am I doing something wrong. [IMG]

Looks fine, dont worry to much about it until the dog is at least a year, so long as its not obese you should be fine.

What they said. How long have you had him? What exercise does he get?

  5. I wouldn`t worry much about how tubby he is, instead I would place my time bonding with him on nice long daily handwalks. There`s also a ton of threads that help explain different exercises, from swimming to flirt pole to get him back in shape once he`s ready, good luck with him :)

I've had him since he was 6 wks, I take him on two 45 minute walks a day and make him run playing fetch with Kong balls and I also take him swimming in creeks thanks

I concur with the others. Puppies need a bit of baby fat. He looks good, and if you keep it up, he'll look good as an adult as well. By that time though, you should regulate his feed a bit to keep him trim and fit.

Take this advice with you bro......f*** what anyone thinks about you and yours. As long as your happy with yourself and your efforts it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Good for you on the rescue and giving the animal a chance at life.
