Mayfield on Hammonds

Yep back then???the green eyed monster poped up....this is just a opinion i would rather listen to a man who went and con;4/5 great dogs than some-one who go's thru 400/500...and can't help but get a few winners thru the law of averages....this is a general reply.(not aimed at either of the above)

You know I always figured Gary to be pretty honest with his pedigrees but I found one I bought that looks paperhung to me.My buddy had the Gr Ch Wino dog who was a real good dog and was papered for years as being off Hammonds JM and Hammonds Sox. By the time I came along Wino was sold over seas but Gary had his sister Bullytuts. So I decided to get a pup out of her.Now all these years later I look in his book he put out and he has Bullytuts papered up as out of Hammonds Kybo bred to Royces Black sister which fits Wino's performance record and looks better than the linebred Rufus papers he had on them.They are a straight Alligator Bullyson outcross.

do you sirguest because you find a slip up in his book he hangs pappers??.. he was and is known as the most hounest breeder out there!!.

 

I never seen any problems before with papers on the other dogs I got from him but this looks real suspicious to me.I seen the Wino dog and his performance is that of an outcross dog.So it makes me wonder.

 

Limey why do you say Don is showing sour grapes? What is it in the video that you disagree with? Are you saying Hammonds was a great conditioner? Is his record of matches not true?

Don is talking about a man who writes to tell people how to condition a dog, when the man himself has no knowledge on the subject and your only defense is to critisize Don on breeding, which has nothing to do with the subject of conditioning? If you want to defend Hammonds it would be easy enough to show Don is wrong by naming the dogs Hammonds conditioned and won with over other well known conditioners. It seems to me that the bitter wine is on your table, not Don's who is only saying the truth.

 

Where you happy, with the dog....l-john... I found gh a gentleman to deal with be it a book/r/dog ya get from him,very willing to point ya in the right direction if can't help ya...as limey said the man has had hundred's of dog's over the years think any-one would make mistakes..as for d mayfeild don't know him (personaly)but he do's go down as one of the best conditioners..think that vid was done around the same time the other man's dog's were hitting it rite all over us+europe..?????SOUR GRAPES MMMMMMMmmm:dogstare:

I'm not disputing Mayfield was a great conditioner,but where's the proof Hammonds ever hung papers.He's been nothing but great to deal with in my experience and seems to be a very honest guy. Before I accused someone of being a paper hanger I'd at least say the name of the dog they hung it on. Mayfield was a great conditioner,and I give him credit for that but there's more to life than being a great conditioner. Honesty is a far better trait if I could just choose one and everyone is free to have their own opinion but GH has always done right by me.

 

Haven't personally seen any although I have thought about trying it,but for now Alligator/Chinaman is doing everything I want it to.

 

Gringo let me ecsplain. back in the late 70,s eurly80,s when the bulldogs left the usa for the first time. all the major breeders of the day send there best dogs to europe. and all of them where sucsesfull. we are talking about sons of Indian Bolio/ Hammonds Rufus / loposays buster you name it they where overhere.. BUT as it is the Mayfield dogs both in the UK and in the netherlands who where send over at the same time where all cur dogs every single one of them quit.
mayfield was loosing ground very fast. and started to try to save his rep. in having his falowers belive that some very good dogs out there where of ""his"" breeding . Including The ch Spike dog. claiming he was bred of of his ofspring. and he opted his falowers to breed to this dog and his ofspring as wel.(seen him claiming grch bandjo and other modern dogs with reputation being of his stock when he was alive)

as it is these dogs where bred bij G hammonds who not only send spike over as a pup but 3 females to be bred to him. A breeding plan. These breedings produced the strongest producing famely of europe and many other famelies fallowed including the Patrick dogs loposay buster dogs. kimsy wood dogs Stb dogs ecetera. Mayfield has always felt very superior over people who where not conditioners like he was... yet his name wil fade out of history as he has NO legasy as a breeder. He has faul mouthed Boudraux/ Hammonds and nearly every other dogman who where and are 10x the breeder he was... YET NON OF THEM TALK BAD ABOUT HIM... i dont know about you my frind but i was bred born and raised in the streets. You take a good look at his eyes!! in that Video when he is bad mouthing G hammonds WAY BEHOND HIS CONDITION TALK ABOUT HAMMONDS., i see major jaloursy and sour grapes. from a man who simply cant ecsept to be the lesser one in a field he could not be on top of. not even close.

He might be right about G hammonds not being a""great"" conditioner. so wassend COLBY yet he wrote a conditioning part in his book!!!!, And altho labeld as the first puppy peddler in history because he sold to the publick!!.
Today and yesterday he was and is seen as one of if not the greatest breeder of the past. gloryfied bij Eurl Tudor and Howerd Heinzl, joe corvino and yes DON MAYFIELD and everybody els!!!.. Hammonds today has bred more outstanding dogs of quality then any other breeder around today . from those 4 pups he send over back in 1979 35 ch and 3 grch and 4 rom dogs came along on this side of the pond NOT TO MENTIOND the dogs in the former EASTER BLOCK... and this is from just one famely. mayfield dogs didnt produce not one dog of importense. They lied and cheated about a dog called Maurice Dans Car a so called 8xw of of pure mayfield stok . yet nobody ever could veryfy this but the Mayfield boys themselfs.

the crosses made from those mayfield dogs into the hammonds dogs where awesome. yet when bred back into the mayfield blood produced curs only!!!!...
mayfield had 2 lichtner famelies BOTH played out in HIS HANDS. he cross the Lightner 2 famely into the Nigger dog. and had some sucses. resulting into some Nigger /alligator looking trowbacks, from the eurly crosses. yet he compleatly disreguarded to select the right dogs and type.
hensh today the purest of the pure nigger dogs are al lightner trowbacks and out of a 100 we see 1 blackish trowback. the rest of them buckskin / sandy colored chokolat nozed dogs are those Lightner trowbacks who played out!!.... al of them seen where curs and most rank curs.. PS Gringo dont take this post personal . im just fed up with this mayfield bs..
