APBT x Greyhound

Hi im new to the board but i was wondering if there were any APBT x Greyhound owners/breeders on this board? Curious of what their temperaments are like, how athletic and gamey are they?

they are know as bull x lurchers,great for big game hunting when bred right.

 

Very fast hunters. The one i had could get hot and fry himself if he did too many runs. Then he would loop out for a few hours. Greyhounds can only run for less than a minute before acidosis sets in, so even with the cross don't expect stamina. Maybe one hard run or two then acidosis sets in. Maybe a deerhound cross pit would make a better lurcher, it won't look as nice but may be a better option for stamina and a calmer hunter.

depends on what line parents come from..really individual. u might get one game one.

i own a bull wheaten greyhound lovley dog but hard work as hes started to be aggressive towards other dogs

 

In my area my cousin run deerhounds mainly beagles walkers mix .He got a fine little beagle that think will run a deer in a minute

 

We've got a type of Greyhound in South Africa called a Boer Windhond or Steekhaar Windond (Wire Haired Greyhound) They are much larger than your traditional Greyhound with a much deeper chest cavity and are known for their stamina for running over long distances. They are also quite aggressive. I would recommend that if you were into making Bull Lurchers that you look into crossing a Bulldog with this breed of Greyhound..........would make outstanding hunting dogs.

Well because this site provides information for APBTs too. I wasnt looking for just Deerhounds, im looking for some kind of APBT x Sighthound type of dog with a high amount of stamina, speed, and game. Just to help it make sense to you.

 

Okay thanks, ill look more into those too. Size and Stamina definitely has a big part in what i want to do. These dogs look nice. Are these DA? or just Aggressive towards animals
