It's a shame

People talk about the preservation if the breed and keeping these dogs working. But when it comes to helping people out with advice and steering then in the right direction it's very rare. Instead people are out there just trying to squeeze and manipulate people out of whatever they can smh

 

People aren't trustworthy anymore, what do you expect? Try to help someone out and they end up setting you up, stealing dogs or using you to get what they want from you then turn around and peddle your shit out to anyone with the cash ruining what you've spent decades perfecting. Preservation to me is keeping these dogs in the right hands and out of the hands of people who frankly don't deserve to have them nor do they have the common sense to do right by the dogs and keep them out of trouble or out of the front page of the local newspaper. Times are tough for this breed all throughout the U.S. in my opinion keeping them going and in capable hands is preservation. As far as the last sentence you wrote, well people, again, aren't trustworthy, however, there are still some very helpful dogman out there that go out of their way to help someone genuinely interested in the breed. Maybe it's how you come off to them that is making people shy away from you. I'm not judging you as I don't even know you I'm just throwing that in there as maybe a different aspect to your problem.

Your whole paragraph is a vague generalization not experienced by everyone.

 

Ya I was trying to be vague. I've just have run into a couple people who I've actually gone outta my way to support and was completely unappreciated. I'm still new. I've been into these dogs and other game dogs for a couple years now. It's hard to find the right people out there because like you said people are hesitant because of these dogs falling in the wrong hands. So on that side I understand. But some people will steal your wallet and help you look for it

 

The way I see it, people that are serious about it will do the footwork themselves and research what they need to know. This board is like a living dictionary of almost everything you need to know just have to read it. The other 99% comes here asking where they can get game bred pup that's not super aggressive and get flamed for being dumb. Like it or not that's how the cookie crumbles.

 

Well put. Your right. It's not easy I've read so much these past couple years and am very well informed and have gained the experienced of owning and working these animals. And it takes special people to care for these dogs. I got tough hide like so I don't get deterred easy. Thanks for the input guys

 

most of these " greenhornes" nowadays are spoild and want everything spoon fed to them. 99.9% of folks start backwords in dogs now then complane when they get took on a ride. some guys will run a fella off at the first sign of a bad move and others will run there pockets and string them along. most just wont fuck with folks they didnt come up with. your damnd if you do and your damned if you dont.

 

I dont go to shows or try to meet people and I just like to keep to myself.Prob not the best way to be but just the way I am.I know people that live close to me.Thats good enough for me.I havent met one person off the net in person.Not that i have shit to hide because I dont.But I have made some friends on this site and enjoy the conversations and this is as good of a site as any to learn.LOL when i say I keep to myself I am this way in everything I do..Not just my animals.
