If you want an SBT get an SBT, forget all the people telling you to own something else first. Nothing will prepare you for owning a sBT,Amstaff or APBT. they are a different animal from there way they play to the way they show affection and "feelings". Just do research in ranges of places because most different sources have different info which will not always agree but there is usually validity between there somewhere

While i hear this from a lot of my northern fam and even my cali bro's but down here in the south carolina i'm still not sure ive ever seen a SBT/AMSTAFF. But those Am Bullies i would consider amstaff, and a lot of the "Pit bulls" in SC were American Bulldogs or American bulldog crosses.

Don't think anybody is ready after just 6 months of liking dogs to own 1.
If it is those barrel chested show sbt, i should say get 1 you won't have to many problems beside health issue's lol.
When it comes to a proper bred APBT or SBT, learn something about them, go to people who own these dogs and get some experience.
Think your biting off more then you can chew right now and at the end of the day it's the dog that has to suffer.

That's a good looking dog, however if you go to her website now you will see that it appears she went a very different route and it's not a good one.

How do you plan to house your dog, what type of set up/containment are you going to use? Also you must make sure you have covered all the General canine basics like flea and tick prevention , worm prevention including monthly heart worm prevention etc...You should have all the basics covered before you even acquire a dog.

As to what breed you should get that is up to you , its your choice just make sure you know the pro's and con's of each breed of dog and the consequences that can occur if your not well informed of a particular breed of dog.

When looking for a breeder of what ever breed of dog you decide to get make sure you ask A LOT of questions of the breeds temperament towards humans or other animals etc.

These are just some basic knowledge tips but I aint no expert that is where AGK comes in as they aint make him a super mod for no reason LMAO.

Many factors to consider . Cesar Millan Sure - - , one day five years from now your obedient dog and you are all by your self, a big open field , O it's a sunny day gentle breeze in the air, & you think gosh my dog needs a real run already . You let him / her go, you watch in all the splendor running like the wind turning on a dime . dogs mouth open tong to the side , the dog smile all the way . - - This Is A Great Day !!
Then out from yonder you dog spots some thing way before you . Another dog owner also having a good day .
Your dog is BAM !! gone running towards another persons Nice Day .
    You start pulling some Cesar Millan -- moves -- >> ( ) & ^^ << / ? ** @@ If you have a radio going at-least you look like your dancing .
You might as well be Cesar Millan with Tourette's for all you can do at this point , cause your chance of disaster is growing with each of your dogs bound towards there new Friend or Foe.
It will be like your life flashing before your eyes , trust me your dog will make it to there destination.
Don't fret your dog will not bite a person or the child your dogs focus is the dog , & you now are playing Russian Roulette

Can you believe on this nice sunny day with the gentle breeze you are playing Russian Roulette.
Well dud thats it . you want a bull breed it's gonna be you and him / her shackled for life . Dog parks NOPE !
wave and greets on the street NOPE ! approval from people in you community NOPE ! Home insurance HA HA charade you are !!

The basic what you can provide as per any dog is just that - the basics . What you need to realize you are giving your life your dignity for said breed of dog . You will be tested time and time again - you or the dog there will be times you are gonna be a lonely guy , but your dog will do there best to fill the void & there dedication and devotion has no end so in that regard they are a great companion dog.

Any way good luck in you decision ...

Dont leave the dog outback unattended if unchained/offleash.
Since your new to breed I'd reccomend just staying away from other dogs/family memebers dogs.
    NO DOG PARK.
You need to train train train and dont give in or up
If you cant dedicate atleast an hour and a half everyday to your dog and cant walk or excersice him you could consider getting a bulldog or even a rescue mix. Lots of dogs in the shelters out there with the "badass" look that will be lazy couch potatoes.
I can really only assume you really like the look since it will be your first dog and probobly not used for hunting/working/showing

As was said already if you do get a SBT you have to really work to keep them out of trouble. Do you live in the country or city? If in the city you have to be constantly vigilant because dumb asses will let their dogs run right up on your dog and if the SBT hurts the other dog it could be trouble. I have two SBT in the US. One is show line and one is working lines. The show line dog is pretty easy to handle but I still have to watch her. I could see her being a first time dog but you never know what you'll get show line or not.

It is nice having a SBT in the US because a lot of people have no idea what they are. I recently bought a house and the insurance guy said to my wife "you don't have a pit bull do you?" She said no and said we had a 30 lbs SBT. He said oh great that's no problem. I really hope they remain a more rare breed in the US.

Man. I've heard on this forum that she had some good ones. I wonder if she still has some good ones privately? You are right, her site is bull shit and she talks about all the great blue dogs she has.

Im willing to bet she doesnt have any hidden gems she was however back in the early 90, s all about the athletic stafford I think she just started making money and fell of the course. Im also willing to bet if u look at a lot of show staffs today in us you most likely find her line up untill 2000
