does Facebook sell you out?

I have always been leery of FB. It seems like a way to get yourself in trouble. But is the potential trouble limited to the trouble you cause for yourself, or is FB doing something unethical?

First, let me tell you that Zuckerberg himself called Facebook users "Dumbfucks."

Facebook has been criticized for building profiles of users, then selling this to various companies, without telling the users the full extent of this policy.

It has recently been disclosed that what you type on FB, even if you don't hit enter, is recorded by them. For example, if you were to type, "Zuckerberg thinks people who use FB are 'dumbfucks.' If people only knew." But you deleted it before posting, FB would apparently still have a record of it. See here:

I know major marketing companies buy information from facebook. Bottom line. Don't put anything on it that you don't want the public to see. It can be a very useful tool for marketing a business, or yourself, or even just keeping up with friends. Just don't be stupid and post S#$% that would get you in trouble.

 

That's one reason I don't do Facebook and other social sites.

 

The other reason is Facebook friends are fucking annoying lol.

Just don't post ANYTHING on FB (or anywhere else online) that is important,my FB activities are pretty non noteworthy,lol

lol @ gh...yeah if u looked at my FB page you would become bored as hell pretty quick..I dont post ,hardly ever.And when I do it doesnt amount to anything but a happy birthday or a comment on a friend or family members picture..Its not a place imo to talk dogs but believe me thier is a bunch of them who are.

 

+1 for the boring facebook page. I got a little worried this morning, though. I posted a picture from Christmas get together, and facebook recognized my niece from the picture and assigned her name to it. A bit much, if you ask me.

 

I don't have the links anymore but there were a couple mainstream media sources reporting that the CIA asked congress for $5million in funding for facebook. Saying it has been the best investigation tool built ever. Mark Zuckerburg was also made an honerary member of the CIA and was given the Agent of the year award. Google is NSA controlled. Verizon/Metro/Cricket owned by FBI, anything Microsoft also reports and tracks for the GOV. Welcome to Big brothers House. It's the land of the fees and the home of the slave. Wake up sheeple.
