My neighbor had a friend over his house . His Pit was with him
The 3 month old pup was half dead, breathing was labored , pinching the skin
reveled dehydration .To top it off demodectic mange , full on face and over all effecting body

The owners food of choice Purina Beneful . Ok every body is looking helpless .The owner says I cant afford to bring to vet . I think I will go to a shelter and say I found pup
??? Mind you he told me he spent $1200 on pup .

Well I took pup home and it was (is not so well) I pour some water down her mouth
and little by little she started to look perked up. Food not interested .
Next day I give her water , roast beef and steak & she starts eating .
I also took some cooked chicken cut up and hot water .
I just wanted her to eat . I have been taking her with me each day
so I am with her 24 -7
Day 3 eating & drinking health slowly coming back .
going to bathroom , and actually just barked at a sound at front door .

Now I need address the demodectic mange ( my vet did not do a scrapping ) yet said based on age and what he sees demodectic mange .
The owner did not give me dog but gave up dog as dead . He's not good owner no concept of feeding or nurturing . Based on dogs looks he would not touch and tied dog to a tree. The owner is the problem .

I can float dog along, it is eating drinking . Skin smells bad but some of the rednesses is dissipating to normal skin color. Still this pup has a LONG road back & I would be surprised if fur actually grows back some day .
This pup will never do well with this owner . It needs special food and care . Me just treating the pup Not Like A Leper is part of the cure . Of course I fell for the dog
& the care I have given has probably caused a bond with the pup towards me that I
have not fully realized .I could care less what she looks like . The vet treatments are to start on Friday He wants to give dog some kinda shot once a week and tropical cream .
Meanwhile of course the owner will want dog back in-time - I am such a sap -
This is the wrong match dog and owner . He would be better off with with a healthier dog not needing as much TLC.

 

So, what is your question? I would not give this dog back. As a matter of fact, take pictures of the dog and the way it looks now. You might need them later on, should the asswipe owner give you a hard time about the dog (if he wants the dog back).

Hope she makes a full recovery, I wouldn't give the dog back, if you spend $1200 on a dog that you can't afford care for then you're not the sharpest tool in the shed.

 

...sound's more like he thinks/knows your a soft touch,,and when ya tell him he ain't getting the dog back,,he will hit ya for..$$$$$...who did he buy the dog off has he the reg/ped's//etc....sounds like a scam...

 

Spoke to owner , His intention is to breed her , So now he knows he has a dog that wont fit the future program .
He said I can have dog for $200 . The F****** nerve , heartless people . The owner is not going to care proper
BUT keep in mind the Owner is not safe to know . I have kids this could get realistically messy
All in ALL the dog is sick , Hart rate fast , body very warm . But eating drinking well .

My wife is not going to stand behind me on this & I have 2 dogs already .
You know I can't save the world .
I am going to see if I can find another dog lover for the pup.
If so i'll give the blood money .

 

Just give the asswipe 200 bucks and find a good home for the dog.

 

I did see this dog back a month ago and she was perfect. He told me back then casual the parents had pedigree
I don't really believe much any more of this guy . The food choice shows me a lot . There activities not related to dogs, but what Pits have been lumped to (peoples extracurricular activities & I don't mean school) if you catch my drift .

I don't feel $1200 is valid as to me it might as well be a $100 BYB dog and if I was to think of all the money I lost in life LOL $1200 suck it up.

Yes he said to me do I want to sell my Male dog , Yes they could be opportunistic and take my male dog particular cause he is not fixed .

So here is the news
I went around and found a some one I had a hunch about being a dog lover .
I told him the story , particular of the fact that $200 would set the dog free of the low life's .
He took pictures of dog and told me his friend has a dog rescue group & 5 hrs later they handed me $100 for the dog , I am paying the other $100
I gave him the dog and tomorrow morn the dog is headed to the vet,
the rescue group uses in Scranton PA .
I mis the dog , but I am happy for the lucky pup . I don't want to even think how tortured I would of felt if I had given the dog back to the abusers .
They came by today to get dog and or wanted money .
I said I needed one more day.
DEAL IS DONE .

My hunch
1) Bad food not rich in omega's (darn it's only a 3 month old)
2) Forgetting to feed and give water
3) Not proper love , and tied to a tree
day in day out .
4) I bet worms
5) unrealistic view of macho pit quality
so when dog showed signs of not being perfect
he was cruel to dog . If ever there was a breed of dog
that could die of depression from owner displeasure
it is the Pit Bull .

When I took the dog, I did the complete apposite
I did not care how bad she smelled, how she looked . I kept petting , hugging . applying coconut oil & feeding her the most tempting foods in small amounts .

Let me tell you ,she felt sick But her spirit was true , no matter what she was sweet .
& wanted to please , She was my dog for 3 days , she was one of my dogs DONE.

 

The person that had this dog needs a beating and then another beating with a fucking bat!!! It's a disgrace that someone would let a dog get into this kind of shape.

 

It sure is a disgrace particular cause you know the warning signs were there .
Thinning of coat or a bald spot or two . This was I bet noticeable from 8 weeks
Good food alone from day 1 might of halted it.

But I see the deal. Grand illusions of breeding "valuable pit bulls " after all he paid $1200
with no concern of the reality - true value in selling . the work involved with pups .

Then the cold truth with - DRUG ADDICTS - they go on a binge they hardly pay attention
to any thing around them . like did some one feed dog ? water for dog ?
Then when the dog looks bad , what are they concerned with - the money they lost !
well I know what they did with the $200 " up in smoke literally "

Well the dog will have the last laugh , she will get better & look like the dog they always wanted
for there Breeding Program that never will be .

 

meth is bad m'kay.... but on a serious note, i'm glad the dog will get the care it needs and deserves. People are sick and no one will ever take better care of someone/thing else than they do themselves. So take a close look at how the people around you treat themselves, it's a good indication of the treatment you or anyone/thing else in their life will receive. Kudos to you for stepping up and rescuing this little girl.

You should treat this situation the same as a BUSINESS DEAL and leave all that emotional content on the side.

Its so simple just tell him your fee for nursing the dog and taking care of him for 4 days is $100.00 per day which totals $400.00 or he forfeits the dogs owner ship to you if he doesnt want to pay that fee.

You see in the real world almost nothing is done for free and people take advantage of other peoples kindness like your suppose to do it for them for FREE without any thing in return. Anyone on here telling you to pay the $200.00 is going by there emotions hence why animal lovers cant think logically cause most of it is based off of there blind emotional content.

 

I forget to say that you can use a mange dip solution or some Ivermectin.

 

Agreed tell him to pay you for the time and care you already put into the dog or he forfeits his right to it simple and logical. The guy doesn't have 100 a day to give you or else the dog wouldn't be in the shape it's in now. Problem solved.
