A little help bout yellow line

Discussion in 'Dog Discussion' started by theBanktella, Oct 18, 2014.

  1. Ok so I'm a real noob in the Pitt game, my girlfriend currently has a yellow line pittbull , we wana get another Cors she is , the pittbull is gettin old , my girlfriend seems to like the yellow bloodline, but I can't for the life of me tell the diff, a good looking Pitt is a good looking Pitt, but she just wants a yellow line dog, my question is what tell tale traits or markings or something makes it a yellow? I mean is it their height , thickness , colour? Like looking at one how can I tell, or is it kinda impossible? Or do I just gotta know that it comes off a redboy dog or tants yellow or what have u, sorry for my ignorance just real curious to learn

Basically any thing that is heavy on the Tant bloodline would be heavy on the Yellow. Most Redboy Jocko dogs do carry a certain look, but that is not necessarily written in stone. I have never been a big fan of the Redboy/Jocko dogs, but I have seen a few I liked. They are a real rough and durable dogs.

First, refer to the breed properly. "Pitt" is a college football team. It is American Pit Bull Terrier. Pit or Pit Bull for short. Or one can say Bulldog.

Second, you are under the illusion (like most neophytes to the breed) that names of bloodlines you hear about constitute a "type" or "kind" of APBT.
There is only one "kind" of Pit Bull...the American Pit Bull Terrier.

Yellow, was a famous dog. The Yellow bloodline is a family of dogs bred closely together, based off of Yellow.

Bloodlines (family of dogs) are either referred to by a particular dog, or a breeder.

Once you get more experience with the breed and terms, you can learn about outcrossing (combinations of bloodlines).

Hope this helps you understand somewhat.

Its called yellow because that's what the owner decided to name that particular dog. And after he was named that some people decided they wanted to breed to him or get a pup off him for some particular reason, and then people bred some offspring together or back to Yellow and over the years you get a group of dogs that are considered "yellow" dogs because of the percentage of the pedigree he represents.

WHat Cajun said. It might help if you think of "Yellow" with a capital Y.

P.S. It won't make you a bulldog but it will give you a better understanding of how dogs are bred and a lot of the peds is wrong on these dogs as you will find out.
