SC: Deputies: Stolen motorcycle leads to dog fighting charges

    COLUMBIA, S.C. —A Richland County man has been arrested on charges involving a dog fighting ring.

    Multiple media outlets report that the sheriff's office says 21-year-old Jacobi Anthony Green was arrested earlier this week and faces several charges, including receiving stolen goods and animal fighting and baiting.

    Sheriff Leon Lott says deputies arrested Green after finding a stolen motorcycle at his home. Authorities say Green fled on foot when deputies arrived, but was caught shortly thereafter.

    Lott says deputies found several dogs, some puppies, a fighting pit and dog fighting paraphernalia. Police say Green also bit and threatened a deputy and his family.

    Lott says the county's animal control department took the dogs. Green was taken to the county jail. It was not clear if he has a lawyer.
