Hello All, I changed Krystals food yesterday. Wen't to the local feed store and bought Diamond brand High Energy dried food, It has 24% Crude Protine,20% Crude Fat, 3% Crude Fiber, 10% Moisture, No Meat By-products and 21 Vitamins. I did buy a bottle of Pet-tabs Daily Vitamin-Mineral Supplement. She is a very energetic house dog but gets good exercise. Does the food sound ok and I suspect a Vitamin every day may be too much. Although she had surgery today (spayed) Some of you may have read my previous post on this, I wanted your opinions on the food and Vitamins. Just read the post about Rawhide Bones (she loves them but I will subsitute something else for her to chew on) Thanks again, Joel

If she is your only dog, I suggest Canidae or Nature's Variety or Innova EVO, etc., Go with a super premium dog food and you will see the difference in the feeds in months!

  7. Before choosing a brand of dog food that is right, you most first ask yourself what kind of dog you will be feeding. Will you work your dog or just have him around the house? The answer to this question will determine if you should get a $35 bag or a $18 bag. If you buy the "premium" food and your dog will not exercise (1-hour daily or at least 3 times a week), I would recommend the lesser of the two. Why? b/c most of the "additional" nutrients found in the most expensive brand will go out in stool. I have been testing Canidae and logging my findings in this site for a few months now (Since Sept) and found Canidae to be good for "athletic" dogs. There are other less expensive brands that will do just as fine for the regular dog. Do a search in this site and you will find the other alternatives.

if you have a Costco near you, buy the Kirkland Super Premium Chicken and Rice formula food. Very good ingredients, and very good price ($16.50/40 lbs). My dogs are looking awesome on it. And they LOVE it

  10. I actually have been feeding that also.. Seems to be working well so far. I used to feed canidae.
