I just wanted to share some pics of my little puppy. He's turning out to be a fabulous dog. He's about 18 months in these pics.

 

Beautiful looking dog got a great big head on him. Love his colour.

Looks like a nice dog. Would love a black dog in the future. Even labs look great in black. Nice shiny coat your boy has, best of luck with him.

Ah is that what the colour is is that why it has a blue hue like an oil slick on a seal colour?

 

Thanks for all the kind words. I had a seal colored dog before this one. He actually looked like a seal sometimes.

 

Its not blue. It's brown/reddish coloring in light. In low light they look black. Seal color is just like the color of a seal, the marine animal. Look at it as black with brown or reddish highlights. .

The color under the black in a seal colored dog. If you take the black out of the picture this is what a seal dog would look like.



It really looks nothing like the color blue or grey. Many seem to think so but personally I feel those who can't tell the difference between seal and blue are probably totally color blind.


Sorry Sic, not trying to hijack your thread but if your like me then when people call a seal dog blue it can strike a nerve since the 2 colors look nothing alike even though both are just a dilution of the black gene. Lol.

Not directed at you either robert. I just see the comparison every time someone mentions the color seal.

Yeah, it does get on my nerves when someone says is he a blue? or is he a blue nose? Folks are crazy! lol. Ah well.
AKG, that dog with the lack of black seal dog, I don't know what other way to word it. I've only seen a very few dogs that color in person. Awesome looking dog.

 

Thanks. Yea it irks me too and I usually will explain the way I did. The brown dog your talking about, Bobface, was out of my dog M.I.A x Redrum breeding. Was a good hound. I produce the color maybe one in every other litter or so. Most of mine come out Black or seal 99% of the time. The color is coming from BBD's Uncle Sam

Not mine, that is BBD's Uncle Sam. When Butch got out of the dogs 2 years ago he offered him and a daughter of his bred to BBD's Miss america but I had to decline. I didn't have the room and I've been breeding away from the Sparky blood for about 7 years now. I sometimes think I made a bad decision but I really just didn't have room for him. Dirty1 Kennels owns him these days. He's got to be getting up there in age since his daughter I have here is 9 about to be 10. I always loved the look of the dog though. Those eyes get me every time I look at the picture.

 

Oh, I see. Sorry you couldn't keep him. It looks like he has a really nice pedigree.
Also, I would take something off Sparky blood any day. That dog looks very intense!

 

I always liked Sparky himself, my ex partner bred to him twice with a daughter of Vietnams Ch Spike. Once with Pg 600 and once naturally but he was older and missed both times.

On peds it says he has 63 offspring but I would say the majority of those are not true. Sparky, due to the juice and years of poor care by Rising Star R.I.P. the dog had an extremely low sperm count. If he did sire a litter it was only one or 2 pups in the litters and he missed more times than a breeding took from him.

I won't hype him up production wise as It's a low % bloodline which is why I have been breeding away from it for years. Makes a good out though and in my expierence with the blood, I'd say his genes were pretty strong as I am around 4 or 5 generations removed now from him yet I consistently throw dogs that are almost identical to him predominantly even while breeding away from that blood.

Jethro was arguably his best offspring he produced. Never cared for Jethro dogs though personally and do not have any dogs off him. I've seen or heard way too many of them that quit on top which to me is a bigger cur than one who quits on the bottom, at least they have a reason to.

Many believe Sparky never sired a pup and that those offspring are probably off his brother Ch Assassin, wouldn't really matter to me if he was since the pedigree is still the same.

It used to bother me a little when people would say that on here or pedsonline but one day I was talking to BBD about it and my concerns, he assured me my dogs are legit as are a few others and then he had me post on both sites for those who where saying there was no way I have dogs down from him for them to put their money where their mouth is and he will dig Sparky up and DNA him to prove Sparky produced pups here and there, but for 10 grand. I said damn, 10 stacks? He said damn straight, if one is going to make me go through all that digging and work to dig him up they are going to pay dearly for it. Lol both threads died that day with no takers.

Honestly that was good enough for me, plus I dealt with him since about 2000 and he has always been both good and truthful to me so I have no reason to doubt my dogs are not bred the way he says. Dogs like my M.I.A. bitch, Lil Spark and Slugger are carbon copies of Sparky down to the white tipped toes so I never doubted it. Hell, I even reached out to Cali Jack about it knowing BBD and Jack hate each other. The reason I did was Jack bred a bitch named Orca to him and produced a single female, Pantera, from the breeding. I never even entertained the Sparky couldn't produce a pup theory after that. If anything, Jack would have not lied about it since he has no reason to, he don't care for BBD or Bullskull, bred to and had a female off Sparky himself.

Bullskull likes my bitch M.I.A. so much that when he would transport her for me to be bred, that bitch rode shotgun with him in the cab, never in the back of the van in a crate. :lol: He used to try and get me to breed to his Son off 44 with her and that he would do it for free just to get something off of it, I never took him up on it and often regret not doing it as they kept a lock and key on the 44 blood. Hindsight is always 20/20.

Sorry for the rant, i couldn't figure a shorter way to explain it. It clicks well with my Geachiman dogs. It made more complete well rounded dogs IMO.

 

Very nice looking dog!! I like the weight you have him at, when you start getting him ready to show you can increase the work and feed, without worrying about fat turning hard! Look's VERY healthy!!!

A few years back, maybe like 5 or 6 now.

 

Very nice dog. Especially the first photos of the puppy seems to be really very much on my own dog. Especially color and eyes.
