I have to apologize in advance if this is just an annoying thread that's been posted about 8 million times... I am a typical newbie and am trying to learn all I can about what I think I want my (future) yard to be about. Hopefully I don't sound too dumb, lol.

I am very interested in Tab dogs. I have one now, and from the research I have done he sounds like a very typical Tab dog. I love these characteristics and I think they mesh well with what I want to do. I guess I would start my question(s) with what happened to Al White's dogs when he was arrested several years ago. Are any of them still alive? I would love another dog, directly off Tab or in the first 2 generations. I don't really know how to go about doing this. We are really just starting any kind of "show" career (he doesn't really have the confirmation for that) and ADBA/UPF weight pull, so I have not made a whole lot of connections on that front yet. So, I guess any information or pointers or even stories anyone has would be incredibly appreciated. :)

A friend of mine here in Texas had a Tab dog years back. Looked a lot like yours. He think he was a son of Tab and a pretty decent dog.

I guess I didn't really say exactly what I meant. The pairing I am thinking I would like to do would be towards another similarly bred dog, possibly with more tab.

You'd want to talk to whoever bred him. From my eye I see about 25% Tab in there, honestly the rest is hard to define. The third generation almost every dog is of different lines basically

Don't know much about the Tab dogs but have always heard pretty good things about them. Only one I have ever seen though is this bitch

    http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/public/printPedigree.php?dog_id=549836

Shes a really good looking little bitch too. Told she's as game as they come without killing them.

Anywho good luck with him. I do agree with CB, at 25% I wouldn't myself call it a tab dog. Either way good luck with him!

Thanks for the input guys. I have talked to the man that produced his father (the person who bred him isn't doing any more similar breedings anytime soon, as far as I know) and he has a couple of breedings planned next year, back to Jesse's great grandmother, but he is not certain he is placing any of them.

As CB stated Jesse wouldn't be considered a "Tab" dog in most peoples eyes and your best bet would be to talk to the folks who are behind the parents as you have already contacted the owner of Jesse's sire (he only has a smidge of Tab in his pedigree through Bones) maybe he could point you in the right direction to some of the people who have previously purchased dogs from his stock. Going through the offspring on peds I seen this http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=518161. Best of luck.

As for the topic of Tab... Stratman posted a very informational thread on him. I really like the stuff I have seen for the most part. Although I wouldn't label the line as a whole when it comes to performance.

Agreed wouldn't call it a Tab dog, def down off some Jeep crossed dog.. Symond on the bottom isn't known like that but he bred some really good dogs over the years and he has some Tab dogs that you would probably like..

The Buster dog was shown up here, he was picked up and there was no reason for him to be but the owner was more worried about puppy sale's...

Thank you all, this is so interesting for me to read. I did all the research I could on his pedigree but from what I'm finding, it's hard to find a whole lot without talking to people who know the dogs (better than me at least.) I have probably read that thread on Tab (posted above) a dozen times.

The best Tab dogs I saw were crosses, the straight up heavy stuff started to get cold. One the best Tab crosses I seen was to some inbred Butkus blood, as with any blood be selective on who and where you get it from. As with any popular blood that was peddled there's a ton of well bred garbage out there
