I didn't read this thread at all but just from the title I would say no line per say is uncapable of being an everyday house dog to anyone with the dedication and sense to raise it as such. Individuals of every line out there could be hard keepers as a pet but an entire line of dog? I would have to call bullshit. The majority of dogs I have been around crave human interaction. Nothing creates that environment like a dog raised in the home. If someone says my entire line of dogs fail at being a normal dog when raised up in the home, I have to call you a straight up fibber and if you don't believe it send me one and I'll prove you wrong. A dog is a dog is a dog, some are just harder to house break than others. I don't care what line it is, it's a domesticated dog. They're only wild when raised by lazy people that don't take the time to show it wrong from right. Hard headed as they are, they are very trainable dogs as a whole.

I raised a bitch in the home,I lived alone. She was very food aggressive from a young age, wouldn't bite (me) after getting that ass kicked a few times but would still curl her mouth up.She wouldn't really respond to being petted but would just stand there kind of frozen.Super animal aggressive from a very young age.Never was intentionally fought with another dog but would get so worked up when off of my property would grab the insides of my car interior as if she "knew" what she was made for and was expecting to be fought.Would go after young children because I think she thought they were animals. This dog was not suitable as a house pet,Especially around children.

Anyone using a 14 month old should kick themselves . And yes i have seen it .

Guess it depends in the 14 month old. I've seen one or 2 that were worth a bet at that age. Im not even thinking about that at 14 months but some are more impatient than others. Think you'd ruin more than would turn out at that age.

^^^^^ To young that's why you don't see more Carvers Snow and several others that threw very hot and mature LOOKING dogs in more bloodlines to much heat put on an immature dog to young! It's like asking A 14 year old kid to go 10 rounds with A grown fighter, there not mature enough to handle that much heat!

Anybody checked out RDC Kennels he breeds Reds definitely not game dogs but they look good and pretty athletic might make good catch dogs but he wants to much for a pup!!!

Yes I know the RDC kennels, (from website) and every now and then, I go look on their site, they look very well, and the dogs are maybe not game but excell in sports.
    And definitely not cheap....

Did'nt even know at this time in history there were any PURE OFRN at least in the states. Every once in A while I'll get A copper colored red nosed dog but I could be wrong there just throw backs to earlier outcross's. From what I've heard (and I''m by no means an authority on OFRN) there was A breeder taking winning dogs that resembled OFRN breeding them and selling them as such! No other attempts to breed except for the looks of an early import of the strain. Just charged twice as much for the color! Also the imports generally were small dogs. Just seams hard after 120+ years having A pure strain even more so that are competing! Like I said I'm not an authority on the strain!

"Anyone using a 14 month old should kick themselves" Why these dogs will tell you when there ready. I'd take a good 5 over a good 3 in most case. However its like the old song " she may be young but she ready" .

They are only ready if you are not them . Sit on a 14 month old and let them mature and then do what you want . Why take a kid out because you want to . The bone and teeth and mind need to age .

Don't get me wrong, I fully agree. 14 months is too young but then you got a few out there that where champed out by 2 or 3. I think yellowman won his first around 13 or 14 months old. One of the youngest to make Gr Ch if memory serves. I don't agree with it. IMO they are pups until at least 15 to 18 months old. Barely even thinking of jogging them let alone running them at that age. The kid analogy is a good one but then again you got kids in 12th grade going pro in the NBA making grown ass men look bad. I wouldn't say those types are the norm. I think I said it before, you'll ruin more than you'll make that way. Nothing wrong with patience.

I see your point AGK and yea some are just freaks. But yea prob 95 percent aren't ready at that age.You look at some other countries and its a lot more common.
