I'm just wondering if there's a safe way I can make it to where you need a key to take my dogs off their tie outs.of course I would have tons of spare keys.just worried about the many stolen dogs in the county.

You can use a 2" O-ring on the buckle side of the collar. Then use a lock around the O-ring and the D-ring already on the collar. Only way to remove the collar is to remove the lock.

Nothing is theft proof for someone who wants them bad enough. Bolt cutters will cut any part of the set up and a decent knife will cut any collar.

Sounds like a really good idea.someone determined enough will thief anything your right. it's hard enough to get too my yard let alone sit in the field cutting through chain.I live on a secluded farm but I made a rookie mistake and let an outsider on my yard.ever since then I've had a bad feeling about him and why he would ask about my guns or why he wanted my to give him a tour.I didn't entertain any of it.

Locks keep honest people honest, as the old folks would say.

If it makes one feel better it is a great idea. It will deter the guy who happens by and is not prepared. The guy that really wants the dog will show up with the tools needed to take your dog.

U can use all the best locks, cold snaps, camera set up, metal dog pins, man biters you want.
But a trip to Wal Mart
    Pellet gun
    Hand torch
    Bolt cutters

You can kiss it all goodbye.

Your best bet is to keep your yard to your self. Watch every 1 no matter who thay are. Nothing is 100% as others have announced. But limiting people coming to your yard and knowing what you have will help more than any thing.

This is very true. I believe someone I know recently bred to my male while I was at work. Work a lot of hours, keep dogs off the road in the woods and it is easy pickings.

I guess I am lucky all they took was sperm.

I have been to some people yards over the years and you will be surprised how Killer there so called maneater will bark, growl, bump at the end of a chain. Till you come at them with a stick some will even call your bluff. When thay take a lick or 2 that run to the house. I have seen it happen.
