my bitch has only recently started to get red dry paws but only on her front feet.
Nothing has changed regarding environment or diet but we have recently started doing a bit of cycling a couple days a week and a lot of that is done on the road.
Anyone have any advice on getting this cleared up?

You just said your hounds environment hasn't changed and in the same sentence you said you have started road work. Clown

    Hey,
it could be some sort of contact allergy but I feel like the back paws would be affected too. Does she lick her front paws a lot? My dog does that when he's bored and they'll sometimes end up red and a little itchy. Is the fur between her toes red or is it only the skin?
I'd maybe try a foot soak with iodine? Just fill up a tub that's large enough to fit her feet with water and mix in iodine until the water turns the color of iced tea. Have her stand in the soak for about 2 minutes and then pat the paws dry with a towel or something similar. Keep in mind that iodine leaves bad stains though LOL.
Try to wipe off her paws and between her toes after roadwork to remove contaminants if it's some contact based allergy.

Hope her paws look better soon!

Sounds like you did to much road work to fast without conditioning the pads..Take any road work slow and steady starting out, just for the sake of the dogs pads.

I have seen dogs get reddish paws and redness in between there toes do to allergies. Grasses and molds seem to cause it for my dog he seems to get it in the spring the worst I believe due to molds/bacteria on the grass in early spring after the snow melts here. I have also seen him get it very mild after days of damp wet summer weather or if we have been walking in swampy wet areas. Doesn't seem to bother him and it always clears up.

Come to think of it, it has been pretty wet and humid here the last couple months so it could be that.
I have some iodine and some mushers paw protector on order anyway so hopefully that'll do the trick.

I think your on the right track. Wash her feet with any kind of antibacterial wash would be a good idea. Have never used mushers paw but have used paw gaurd. I would wipe her paws off regularly with some mild soap and water and dry good after with a towel and watch for improvement.

Actually today it looks a lot better but the last couple of days I've stuck to grass and very little roadwork.
I think your right Box Bulldog though, I'll just keep on top of it.

She's done roadwork all her life just hand walks not cycling though so I'll just ease up on the cycling until it clears up

One other thing in regards to paws, its a little off topic but watch your dogs nail especially the front middle ones. From lots of walking on hard surfaces concrete/pavement ec. the nails on my dog get so worn down they start to bleed. Just something to keep a eye on.

By clown I meant your funny. You answered your own question. You are soft. What I said was constructive. Have a good day and good luck on your endeavors.
