Seems the Gould dogs as of late seem to be harder then nails. Could it be because the Middleton blood used?

How is Billy Jack as for a all around dog?

My Hammond's Patterdale has some Gould blood in it. I'll have to figure how to post his pedigree and show it to you. He's on the big side for a Patterdale. 20 lbs. I can't take him to ground but I'm waiting for bird season to end so I can hunt raccoon in the public land nearby.

Actually I talked to Garry about BHP at one point. My biggest is 14.5# male, was asking about Billy Jack because last I new he went from a earth home to Texas.

Not posting this to Offend any one. Just using this to show how or why the size of terriers tend to increase obviously using staff crossed. Over seas this is natural to Them because they are terriers. Some will be smaller some will be bigger due to the crossing.

  8. T.C.P.they are hard as nails because of the Nuttal blood in them...and we all no why that is.
suppose not all Gould dogs go back to Nuttal blood?but i bet most do regardless of what its ped reads.

  9. Come to think of it...mixing Nuttals lines with Midiltons lines and your gonna get hard tykes.

i think there is a lot of staffordshire bull terrier in the ken dog..A friend of mine (im in ireland) has a red male that i suspect is related to that blood.(down off troy or turbo)- has huge teeth- is that a trait of the ken line?

  11. The Nuttall dogs are nothing now over here tbh, there's lads in certain circles that have much better dogs than those snipey things that are now labelled Nuttall.

Nuttal was a peddler simple as....The good dogs are in the hands of lads who dig them week in week out and have created their own line from through workers and breed them only for their own use..

  13. The quality of his early dogs and the mark he's made in the terrier world can't be denied.
And yes lads have carried the torch but just about every black un around can trace it's lines back to Nuttall dogs, even those lines that have had bull added.

Nobody ever mentions smithy being a lakie cross.

  16. Where does anyone think the likes of Wheeler and co got their base dogs before adding bull to the mix?

Folk make out as though they invented the wheel, well they didn't.

No doubt about it.. I go buy a quality pair of dogs and breed like fuck and sell them to any Tom dick or Harry.. Breed enough and you'll get good ones.. Look at the name Robert booth has in USA for good dogs and ask any that's knows what's what this side of water will tell you about the real Robert lol

No doubt nuttal made a mark on black dogs.. He bred enough of em lol, it's Common knowledge he use travel to Eire with a van full of 'black' dogs selling them like fresh buns to anyone with money at chicken shows.

Used to go on a hunting forum and it used to get really nasty and personal between the irish lads on there, about Booth and his dogs.it seemed to be accepted on there that he was a thief. If anyone defended him they were labelled the same.i got that bluck book the irish one and was hoping that might spill the beans but it barely mentioned Booth,it would have been a better book if Darcy had done it.Though why anyone who activly works dogs in uk or eire, would want to be profiled in a book is bizarre.
