What benefit does it provide? I don't like it, but maybe some of you see good in it.

Old folks said it was so the kids wouldn't have to catch the bus in the dark.I don't see any benefits other than long evenings in spring and summer which I do like

I work 12's and get home after 8. At least in the summer I get a chance to see ol' Jake before he sees me. Other than that I see no benefit. If it were dark in the summer time I might have to pave the path to the dogs.

I must have seasonal depression I can't stand when it's dark at 5:30. I do understand the concept about the kids waiting on the bus in the morning. The daylight savings time really doesn't save any daylight. But I like when it's light outside till 8 p.m..

    im pro daylight savings time.
for me when we switch to summer time it confirms to me summer is coming.
this works the other way round as well it leads in the winter and it leads in the summer.
    i like it!!!

We do it in parts of Canada. Was told it was for kids not having to walk home from school in the dark.

It gives farmers more day light in a work day.

Um yea but that's bullshit. The number of daylight hours dont change cause you change a clock. If farmers want more daylight hours the simple solution is wake up earlier.

Its was first pushed as a fuel saving measure in Germany and maybe Britain might have started it b4 them. The idea was less fuel would have to be used for light and I dont knownwhat else. The U.S. adopted it later. The chamber of commerce was a major backer because they said it would provide more daylight hours after a workday and so more Americans would go shopping after work and spend more money which which I think is the real reason

Accept that in the winter days are shorter.
No need to change a clock

you must not have read my comment, it clearly stated i like the daylight savings time for very different reasons then what you just said.
to me its a matter of knowing summer is coming and knowing that winter is comming.
i like changing the clock, i like the change of seasons, i like not to change daylight savings time customs.

my thoughts are that there are always people displeased with something.
that doesnt mean we need to change everything just to please them.

what im trying to say is, keep your hands off of my daylight savings time hahahaha.

That may be true Rev idk , but it sure made it easier to convince the share croppers and field hands to get in the fields earlier when faced with losing and hours pay every day.
