good spring pole toys?

have gone through a couple of ropes and some rubber toys, any recommendations besides hides

 

Ive used bicyle tires but they dont last long

 

I used bicycle tyres or motor bike tyres for years and my dogs kept dying of cancer, not saying they didn't get it through an unrelated source, but when I watched them up on back legs, working the tyre getting it all wet and frothy, then seen that shit (along with little tyre pieces) going down their throat I didn't like it, then they started getting cancer.

I watched a documentary on TV years later, it was about artificial surfaces made of recycled rubber tyres that was getting used in kids play parks all over America, evidence showed the kids were ingesting the rubber granules on play surface and there was a spike in childhood cancer cases in areas where kids used those parks.. At that time I used to carry a boomer ball in my back pack and 5am every morning I'd let my dog run crazy in a fenced off 5-a-side soccer pitch with that same artificial rubber grain surface.. After the dog worked for around 5 minutes and the Boomer ball dog wet with drool, I noticed it was picking up little grains of black rubber like sprinkles on a cake, just thought fuck that! Prefer to go through the anxiety of letting the dog play with the Boomer on grass in the public park.. Not saying this as fact, just what I felt and decided on myself.. IMO the best lure or tug toy for Springpole would be Natural Hemp rope, hide or fire hose, but not anything that's rubber!

I think this is correct. Not just cancer ... but I think tires contain some very dangerous stuff in them.
I also did use car and motor bike tires and I feel pretty bad about it.
Fire hose is rubber inside. Hemp always works well, lol.

 

Lifting straps used for lifting by crane are very strong and last a while.

 

Tiers don't last long as a lure lol....and they mighty bad in more ways then one..cancer being the main...
I used to use push bike inner tubes over a goal post as the slak.but always rope for the lure....
Rubber proper bad for dogs,proper cancerous..but I had a dog live untill his dotege what had gobbled down plenty bits of tiers over the years- but that dog went insane-I often wonder if that's why?-did he have cancer for years?.
I would never let a dog put rubber in his mouth agiain...or let one jump up and hang on trees.as spectacular as it looks,the dog swollows bits of wood and that's not so good....
car tiers also have metel thread running through them.the thread can probably be swollowed as well as the rubber..

Rope for a lure all the way..not a oily rope lol...hemp is safe.

With these dogs no matter what you use, you will need to replace it sooner or later. Probably sooner lol. Given enough time they will go through anything. I'm using those thick rope toys at the moment. The kind with a rope tied at the bottom to simulate a ball.

 

Here’s what I’m talking about. Costs about 5 to 10 bucks and lasts at least 2 weeks when used daily for about 10 minutes by one dog. You will find the chewed up rope in the dogs shit almost every other day lol.

Interesting, I know I have a few heavy duty zip ties lying around somewhere. I actually have a collar on the tree branch with the springs attached via a carabiner (I used to do a lot of rock climbing). The rope toy is then attached to the spring by another carabiner.
