An Old Southern White Bulldog that is a Gr Ch AB. Amazing what can happen when you are an NKC senior judge & your friends are also senior judges. Signing off on cold dogs with at most a scattered rustic pedigree is the norm in the AB world

If I went looking for an AB this is what I would like to get as an end product.

There is a place in NC called Gunslinger kennels. They do a lot of man work and they have a number of dogs that look like this and they work their dogs.

Soze if you think country folks allow loud ass dogs just cuz they in the sticks you would be mistaken! My grandpa was comin out wit a stick to “shut up that yappin!” Coupla good ass whippins and all he had to do was yell from the door... Some don’t mind barkin, some do.

I refuse to believe these dogs are unchanged for the last 1-200 years. That would go against what I’ve seen and learned in life and with these dogs. Folks use what works first, then sell what they can’t use or what others want second.

As for Stompanato, nah. Those dogs don’t produce predominantly white dogs. They may pop up black with white, not white with black like him. Not that I’ve seen. I haven’t seen em all but I’ve seen quite a few down from that type of blood

These dogs were about winning before they were about purity of breed. I’ve learned a lot on my journey with these mutts and I’m still learning. But only when it makes sense

The Fell terrier ive never heard of but im assuming it is a relative to the patterdale?

    Soze
I had never heard of the Fell Terrier, they look similar to a patterdale, also haven't heard of the Sudri Lol, the Plummer Terrier is an interesting more modern breed. The Italian greyhound for example x'd with a gamedog does look very similar to some of the older lines. Jock of the Bushveldt being a MT x SBT cross but has that distinct muzzle type that you still see in a few lines today .

    The Ratters
Gameness was the first requirement everything else was secondary

No truer words have been said.

This covers just about all the breeds and all the families and all the strains.

I had access to a Bolio dog once and got dogs out of his first four or five litters.

This guy who has sold a lot of puppies bred to him but did not get puppies. He did not miss for us. He repeated the breeding and did not get any puppies.

This Bolio dog stamped his offspring in shape, size and bark. They all looked a like and sounded alike.

Nearly two years later I visited the house of the guy who did not get any puppies. He had a yard full of dogs that looked like mine and sounded like mine. Just registered differently.

    It happens throughout.

Someone mentioned gull terr I’ve owned several but never again man biting curs mostly as all they breed for is aggression of any kind. I’ve also seen them bested by kc bull terriers. France or wales has the best breeding program for them. And fell terriers are basically the northern English terriers instead of the southern terriers that hunt a different type of land. (Italian greyhounds don’t deserve kennel space lol show breed always have been.)

I’ve only seen Robinson’s dogs online but I did mention them somewhere in an earlier post , interesting about the Gull Terr I would have thought there’d be more of a bulldog disposition & temperament. They sound almost Mastiff in character?

Mate from first hand experience they don’t have protection instinct just attack. There basically scatterbred bull terriers with abit of native blood id never own another complete waste of 3 years and way to much money.

Also was wondering if anyone knows much about the Irish Staff? There seems to be little information about them or I just don’t know where to look lol. What peaked this curiosity was a dog named the Red Hand of Ulster & well one can only assume with a name like that he’s was a Northern bred dog lol.
