This is some funny shit- if I must say myself… on another note, cheaper dog doesn’t necessarily equate to a better deal as you are consistently referencing. Further more your philosophy of extreme research and to avoid “impulse” purchases is an interesting one also but there is a contra. You probably missed many deals where the seller is distressed and vulnerable to a pocket full of cash as a down payment etc.. talking first hand from vehicles to real estate and everything in between.
So take it easy on the pontificating and always remember there is more than one way to catch flies and there are no absolutes

So again.... when you put this "highly researched" pup(you definitely impulse bought her not did 4 months of research on her) down to "a friendly weight pull" what do you consider to be an average $2500 dog?

Also no nepotism but a daughter of a doy, that produces every litter compared to a fb impulse purchase I'd take my chances with to dog of the years offspring.... you didn't "get a better dog" because you have tried to preach to ppl about his dogs sire. I don't even think you realize wtf you're saying some times. Which is fine but you tear titanic size holes in your own jon boat when you do.

    Exactly it.
His rot gets hard to read after a while, hence my response.
It’s clear to see that, like me, he is a “google dogman” at least one of us does not portray otherwise

No one woke up one day and had magically became who they are with dogs. It's a process. But the constant "years ago I bred to a dog who didn't produce and had his nuts bred dry for $600 a pop" and "I'm superior in every way" is fucking old.

I just bred to a 2x 1x otc for free... made a call dropped the bitch off. I just got given a free pup who's bred MUCH better and will likely be MUCH better than his pup. I've bought junk and been given good dogs(vice versa also). But I tell everyone the same thing... they're dogs not blood diamonds. The second you start acting and thinking they're anything more than dogs you're in trouble.

Now I'm not shitting on dudes puppy. I hope she's exactly what he has fantasized her to be. But the reality of the current situation is she's a young pup he can't handle already. It's clinically insane to say she's better than anyone else's dogs right now.

Oddly enough when I finish with her and breed her to ch 1/2 brother you will get a other free dog. Let them dipshits stay on fb marketplace...

I appreciate it my guy. You also know I'd be more than happy to purchase one. I'm definitely not out looking for freebies.

But this is a great example of what I'm saying. If you know the right people, carry yourself correctly, and put in the effort you would be surprised what can happen.

If all goes well they'll be 1 or 2 ppl on here with pups off my breeding. They were very cool, respectful guys who I would get a lot of joy out of giving a pup. If Haunch would've taken a different approach he could be sitting in the same boat.

I'd happily give you, kiwi, and Pollo animals also. But those same pups I'm willing to give to certain ppl would cost someone else an astronomical amount. To me me they're worth 3k+ but trying to level up people I like is priceless.

This is facts. No matter how the game has changed/evolved, the one constant is your reputation will take you much further than the money will. 20+ years ago, there was a "standard" price for pups, if you were known to be part of the game, the pup prices were greatly reduced for you, regardless if you and the breeder knew eachother or not. And if you and the breeder had any sort of relationship, you may very well get a pup for free. The same gies today. I've been away from these mutts for 2 decades. But after establishing some contacts again, I've been offered a free pup. I've also been offered a pup at a great price from another well known breeder who has been in the game for 40+ years and has refined a highly sought bloodline and made it his own. Neither one of the breeders know me, but real recognize real.

The debate over prices on puppies and dogs has raged on since the first puppy was sold or the first dog was offered for stud. Nothing will ever really change the fact the almighty dollar's value changes from person to person.

At the Garner pig picking a few years ago as I left there was a guy who was leaving with two puppies, maybe 8-10 weeks old. Based on the market and what those Cottingham/Red Boy dogs were going for at the time I am guessing even if he got them on a fire sale he dropped $2500 or more. As we walked out my comment to my buddy is that, "he must got it like that".

When we got to the parking lot it was a cool 100 degrees. This guy put the pups in the front seat of a Ford pick up truck. I cranked my truck and waited for the A/C to catch up. He in turn lifted his hood and added nearly two quarts of oil and maybe a gallon or so of water. I am thinking, 'maybe he does not have it like that', as we were in NC and his plates were from Alabama or Arkansas.

I can't pay that kind of money for anything if I am that close to walking, especially that far from home.

I hope this guy used these two pups to sell enough puppies to get his truck fixed, as for me that would be 'peddling with a purpose'.

He and I valued things differently and neither of us are any more right or wrong than the other.

My advice is that if you truly like eggs you better save the stud fee and start saving for your next dozen, but if you really like dogs, and especially if you really like a certain family of dogs, then by all means spend your money anyway you want.

Have been busy but....AWWWW, I though we had become besties. But even if we had, I would not feel right about taking a free pup. It is just too damn much work and expense. You had to feed and raise (or at least obtain) the parents, spend a bunch of time and money taking care of the pups. Now yes, maybe your years of experience and wisdom could be a gift, and much appreciated, but really it is not right to not compensate someone for the hard cash outlays for food, wormer, shots, etc.

Now what people do, and what makes sense is taking less money...much less, if you know your pup is going to a good hoe, somewhere it will be siure to get lots of good care, and yes in my case love.

Now I have done free stuff for members of this board via PM. Things I normally get paid very well to do. I did it because they were kind and helpful towards me.

Actually you (Ssdd) did recommend that I look locally for my pup, which actually turned out to work very well for me. There are about a million good dogs in Texas. I like very much what I got although she is a handful.

Man, I wouldn’t even stud myself out to your wife for 5k with the way you talk. Captain Loose lips. 5k to end up catching a case lol not worth it. Won’t even cover a decent lawyer retainer fee.

I don’t mean to pile on you or trash you man but seriously watch what you say, especially when it concerns other peoples business. Some shit is better left unsaid or said in private. That is all.
