a friend of mine purchased a "blue nose" a while ago as a house pet. he knows the deal and how i feel about these type of dogs and despite my protest he bought this dog. anyways he isnt like your typical blue and i have a weird feeling about this dog, there is this voice in the back of my head and its hard to ignore. now this dog is still a pup and im waiting for him to come of age. my friend knows me and my passion for the dogs and i've talked to hijm about letting me train his when he is old enough. should i waste my time and energy, that would be all because i dont have to spend a penny as my friend feeds, houses and pays his vet bills. i'm reluctant to even check him further but like i said there is something about this dog. what do you all think? and even if he did turn out i wouldnt breed him under any circumstances.

What is it about the dog that you don't feel is right (other than the color :D)? And why would you wait to begin training?

I love some of the dilute blacks I have seen, but as the OP posted "blue nose" in quotes and wrote that their buddy knew how they felt about those types of dogs it seems like the OP doesn't think much of them.

yea i agree even though there not for me,they do still make good pets like any pet.for each his own.training a dog is just that.training a dog.

Does your friend want to breed the dog? What do you want to train it for (I mean what do you want to train it to 'do') if it's just a pet? Why do you care if it's his dog and he's happy with it. If it's a pup still is it exhibiting man eating behavior or something?

first of all, i dont like how he is being feed and have made suggestions but my advice goes unheeded. secondly i dont like how he treated or how his behavior is corrected. honestly i'm worried that this could be a special dog but my friend is ruining him cause he wants a perfect little house pet and that isnt what this dog is. the dog is pretty well behaved but he is in the wrong hands. my friend shouldnt have ever bought a "pit bull". he said he went with the "blue nose" because the type that i have are too hyper, DA, and need too much attention, which is a poor excuse. i spend more time on the spring pole than he does all week with the dog. its sad really. he thinks this dog will make him $$ cause hes blue and has a really good conformation. i'm torn up about this dog. and yes the fact he is blue does bother me.

Ah you are worried about the owner not the dog, that's refreshing. This is however your 'friend' and that's a hard call. Sucks that he got it to breed, doesn't understand nutrition or training. Your friend may or may not listen to you but if he lets you work with the dog the only one who benefits is the dog, not that bad I guess but it will suck for you when he takes it back and breeds it for the money. It's nice you are trying to help the poor dog out. In the end you may have to either suck it up and watch him waste a good dog AND breed it or lose his friendship.

you pretty much got the point. i have to watch him destroy a dog he shouldnt have ever gotten. i wish i ignored the dog because of his blue coat.

    Love sees no color. :D

I've been through this countless times with 'friends', all you can do is sit back and either give them a good talking to and lose the friendship, try to educate as politely as you can or just give up and know there's nothing you can do when information falls on deaf ears. Usually the latter unfortunately. :(

    Good luck in any case.

I don't get it though. Train it how, and it could be a good dog in what way? I mean if its just a house pet, then the color or kind of pitbull it is shouldnt really make a difference. Better if it has less drive and animal aggression if possible IMO... but i mean if you're talking about competing in any number of sports, then i can see your point of view.

them "bluenose" or bullys can make fine house pets. If thats what he's lookin for then thats fine. everybody cant own a performance animal just like everybody dont need a performance vehicle.

If you are wanting to hunt with him, hell coat color dont matter and the dog damn sure doesnt know he is blue, if you see something in him then look past the blue or move on and forget him.

hes blue but def wants to hunt and i think will perform well. my boy doesnt know how to handle him, and only keeps the dog because of the "status" lol, and the potential of making money from studding him. this has been clearly stated by my friend...

everyone isnt gonna like game bred dogs over other and thats the way it should be. if everyone had game-bred dogs we would be in trouble. eventho i enjoyed makin that bully bashing song on youtube i know different people like different styles. people are gonna breed "blue-nose" dogs that shouldnt be bred just like people are gonna breed bulldogs that shouldnt be bred. dont push the game-dog culture on him, as long as he takes care of his dog he is a fine petbull owner to me. I dont mind the whole bully thing other than people comfusing them wit my dogs. Otherwhise they dont effect me so why would i care?

i'm not pushing anything on him, ive only ever just made suggestions, given my opinion when asked and held my tongue alot. but i feel like the dog is neglected not to the extent of abuse but i woulld never treat a dog like that. i feel like this dog could turn out to be an ace.
