Animal Planet probes dogfighting culture

Yea I agree that show is bad. For people who don't know about pit bulls that show is nothing but a scare tactic. They show they being aggressive and being hard to handle. That is going to scare most people into thinking that all pit bulls are unstable and animal aggressive. I hate animal planet. I love animals but I hate that station. They harbor and encourage the whole animal rights extremest views that are making it so difficult to just own a dog.I believe that show is a hidden way to make people fear pit bulls and people always hate what they fear.
AND I hate the whole spay and neuter thing. If we spay and neuter all the dogs they will go extinct . I am all for spaying and neutering of mutts and unregistered dogs and responsible breeding practices.

most of the board was up in arms over the whole animal planet thing before even watching it. while it isn't fair to make assumptions regarding people i've never met, it is strange to me while so many people got infuriated before viewing.

Actually I train dogs for a living and I do a lot of work for rescues as well. Yes is the answer, most dog owners really are that stupid. You should hear the things people say to excuse their dogs behaviors or to justify plain aggression as "happiness or excitement". People are already scared of this breed for NO REASON. Statistics are not only inaccurate but ridiculously low anyway. A child is more likely statistically to be killed by its parents than by a pit bull but you don't see stricter laws on parents. People are stupid for the most part when it comes to real dog behavior.
There are many people who are already scared of these dogs and then to see the dogs consistently being aggressive and hearing about how aggressive they are is just going to encourage more fear and hate for the breed.
These people don't know the history of the breed and they don't care. They only see aggression and that turns into fear and fear is what drives breed bans.

the audience is the bunny hugger environmentalists who sabotage tree logging and off road racing [desert and enduro]. i once raced motorcycles in the new mexico, arizona, nevada and calif. deserts. one race, the barstow to vegas 180 was so sabotaged by these jerks, they put steel spikes lining the race course so we could punture tires and wreck,.

i hit one spike cluster and wrecked at 95 mph, was airlifted to las vegas and almost died from the injuries.

look at all the dog attacks in ga.this is because of the NOTEHERING laws they are passing.we have talked to several of the couties that have passed the new law,they say that if the marshall comes out and tells you to put theyour dog in a pen or fence and gets out you are respocenable how is this so,if they tell me i have to drive my car wit no brakes and i hit someone they are respocneable for this not me,but they made me do it. we have to sue the commiseners.

Very well said!All of the great attributes that "Non-Sporting" apbt owners love about these great come from it being GAMEBRED!To preserve that GAMENESS, it must be tried in the PIT.In a proffesional manner of course.All of the great things we find in these dogs are genetically attatched to the Gameness trait.Weight pulls and other events do not show a dogs gameness.They usually simply show a desire to please its owner.In pitting,its about overcoming an obstacle thats trying to physically overcome you(the dog).GAMENESS:The ability to overcome extreme punishment and STILL keep pushing forwards.No other event will show you this trait in its rare but purest form.Not everyone DESERVES these great dogs.If you dont have what it takes to breed these dogs TRUE,than they're not for you!
