Bill knew they would come eventually...Truth? I'll tell you the truth as I see it, the brush fire near Bills property was more likely started by the folks that had the warrant swiftly in-hand!

- He was hateful to fellow fanciers (TNT was at least one).

- He judged dogs by pedigree & color (extremely shallow for a dog man).

- He used his PBR to shame fellow fanciers publicly (again see TNT).

- Was a dope dealer (no one grows $124,000 of weed for personal use).

- Was likely a dope smoker (nothing bad there, but it is illegal).

- Was a dog fighter (again nothing bad there if it is done PROPERLY, but again it is illegal).

- Was a drunk (as he noted personally in his GR.CH. 35 story).

- Didn't give two farts about the breed (why grow, possibly use & sling dope if you even have these dogs?? You KNOW what light these dogs & their owners will be put in if you're caught).

- Was too yellow to face the consequences when caught (committed suicide).

He was also ...

- A very educated dog man.

- A good educator on the breed.

- A versed breeder of quality animals.

Does that about cover it?

Evil, evil creatures, eh? However, I will agree, I do breed merle APBTs. Unlike Bill I do not determine a dog's worth by color. I do not care if the dog is black, white, red, blue, merle or purple, so long as it is a good dog, I will use it.

Furthermore I find it quite unusual indeed that you try to take a swipe at me, but the fellow you defend has done the same (or worse) by breeding a dog of completely unknown lineage. Anything could have been behind that dog, yet the gentleman you lionize bred him multiple times. I on the other hand actually know how my dogs are bred, but you try to demonize me b/c you don't like their color. Truly laughable sir.

The downfall of the breed (or part of it) are people like Mr. RB. Why you ask? Drug dealing. Possible drug usage. An abundance of guns. THIS makes our breed & those who own them look terrible. Due to things like this incident, how many members of JQP think APBT owners are drug dealing, drug using, gun toting, riff raff? A lot!

And it's not just RB. It's anyone like him. DMX. Snoop Dogg. The list could go on. But his being PART of that list does not help the breed in any way despite any positive contributions he may have made. This little fiasco just re-enforces the stereotype. JQP doesn't know about his positive contributions. All they know he is yet just another pit bull owning, drug dealing, dog fighter.

Outsider: You could be indeed be correct. I do not think they posted the source of the brush fire, so anyone - to include LE - could have set it. But I must ask this - if they wanted him, why not just go get him like they did the others? Why endanger innocent people (his neighbors, etc.) by setting a brush fire? :confused:

Oh well, it really does not matter in the end. He is deceased & all the speculation & trading of opinions in the world will not change that. All we can do is wish the best for his family & his dogs & try to change the negative stereotype amongst JQP that he helped re-enforce.

I agree 100%. I was just saying he should not be lionized. To eulogize someone is one thing, but to make a shining saint out of a sinner quite another. A lot of people have a tendency to overlook a LOT if the person was a famous dog fighter when they should not. I have to admit, RB really let me down. maybe that's why I'm so upset about this whole thing.

But that is JMHO.

If you think you are the only one who feels terribly let down by this horrendous convergence of events, think again.

This does not look good for the game-bred community, and I haven't seen one single poster here pretending that it does.

However, people are simply trying hard to look at the positive contributions of the man while the PETAs, HSUS of the world rejoice in his death. That's all. I am sure that within days more facts will be known and more will crawl out of the woodwork ready gnaw on Rushin Bill's bones. Being the first scavenger on the scene, however, is never becoming. JMHO.

The guy I knew was no drunk. Many of us have had one to many. The 35 story took place at least 30 yrs ago. Ol' steph, like you ABK was trying to peddle some pups, out of respect of the breed Bill and many others called her on it. Five pounds of weed could have been for personal use. I ran trough way more than that when I smoked. When I asked the man face to face about the law coming after him he, as stated before knew they were coming. He just looked me in the eye and said he wasn't working on a road crew like Tant. I don't like folks who on one hand talk up these dogs fighting past and on the other talk bad about people who still test their stock. The point of my first response to you was this is not the time to push your agenda and ideals, not if I agree or disagree with you. Another point is that people who live on the edge of the law are not ruining the breed if you knew your history you would know people like this laid the foundation for these dogs.

 

I live in Cali and there's strands of green that go for a lot higher than $400 bucks.

Bill was a great guy, I had the pleasure to call him my friend. I had spent many of hours with him and had learned a ton from him about the dogs. I am an avid hog hunter and hunt with apbt's and have had Bill along side of me on several hunts. I have visited him at his home in Arkansas and was treated with dignity and hospitality. He was laid back and very educated, and his views, whether right or wrong were his views. I can honestly say he was my friend!

 

if they were coming couse of a brush fire why would thet need a warrant, also he new they were coming, i guees and wonder if he new they were coming why didnt he get rid of the weeds and guns u can tell he got rid of the dogs, becouse of the 40 empty chain setups? when it comes down to it i bet he had personal problems we know nothing aboutsame story with mike taylor several yrs ago had good dogs great place for them and was found dead same senario
