    Saiyagin, lol, that cracks me up. Be a man. LMAO.

    More accurately:

    Dulce et Decorum Est

    Bent double, like old beggars under sacks,
    Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge,
    Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs
    And towards our distant rest began to trudge.
    Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots
    But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame; all blind;
    Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots
    Of tired, outstripped Five-Nines that dropped behind.

    Gas! Gas! Quick, boys!—An ecstasy of fumbling,
    Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time;
    But someone still was yelling out and stumbling
    And flound*ring like a man in fire or lime...
    Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light,
    As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.

    In all my dreams, before my helpless sight,
    He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning.

    If in some smothering dreams you too could pace
    Behind the wagon that we flung him in,
    And watch the white eyes writhing in his face,
    His hanging face, like a devil's sick of sin;
    If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood
    Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs,
    Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud
    Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues,—
    My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
    To children ardent for some desperate glory,
    The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est
    Pro patria mori.

    (Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori: it is sweet and right to die for your country -- often quoted at the start of the First World War during English recruiting efforts.)

    I seem to understand your points,but i also think there can be more than one deffinition of gameness.
    The WILL part,would you consider it mental or automatic?
    If its automatically enginered,would the WILL to dominate (or whatever)over ride the thought process?
    If its mental,the will to dominate(or whatever) they have a choice whether it be the will to dominate,the will to take bottem and let the other dominate,the will to stand for 5 than scratch,or they will take thier last breath not quiting,if they know thier fading im sure some know theyre not dominating...
    If its automatic or purely genetic as you presume im sure your deffinition holds ground.But i beleave that the WILL can be either option and possibly certain percentages of both...
    Ive heard of dgame dogs that woulnt take hold ever,are they mentally dominating?
    I said will to survive and i beleave it might come across thinkers mind,the will to never give up is a better example.
    I LIKE THE WILL PART,lol.JUST THINK GAMENESS shoudlnt only be defined as THE WILL TO DOMINATE.

    Bulldogs don't really have such a high rationale. Their thought process is very simplistic. You're asking about that will being diverse and it really isn't EP. What it boils down to is the strength of that will and/or the degrees of it's strength everywhere between weak and strong. The strength of that will determines how close to game a dog is. The will is also not something controlled by thought. When it gives out, a dog quits. It was and still is bred into them in lieu of those instincts which wild animals must have to survive. The ever present, unbending, unyielding WILL to dominate, whether domination is achieved or it isn't......whether it's even possible or not.........................is gameness.

    Well written TDK.I beleave some of these bulldogs to be robots and some to be think tanks.Do you think the bond between handler and bulldog can determine some individuals gameness?

    What I believe is that if you are a CONSTANT wonderful figure for the dog to see day in and day out, that the affection and respect will make it feel better over a haul. It cannot increase gameness, of course not. But it can be a terrific thing for its morale to see you by him and in front of him in certain critical situations of competition.

    Again i'll agree to disagree.The bond between a owner/conditioner/handler can with out a doubt send a dog in deeper water.A mentor whom passed,said all his dogs were curs but he didnt inform them that was an option.
    Any breed or type dog usually thrives satisifing man,which is actually the trait that seperates them from wild dogs.
    I believe this trait to run so strong in our bulldogs thats where the gameness trait stems from.
    Making humans happy and selective breeding...

    Hey guys, hope you do not come guns a blazin at me, but i´m of the opinion that "gameness" is nothing more then the rare recessive mutation in production of endorphins.

  13. Saiyagin

    Saiyagin Chihuahua

    If thats the case I could give a Chihuahua some Endorphin drugs and make it game LMAO.

  14. grove

    grove Big Dog

    But it´s not just so easy, endorphins are loosen from brain during some period of time till the fatigue come to play its role. I think dogs who can produces endorphins in continual with no regards of exhaustion are game dogs.
    We are not talking some mysterious thinks, we are talking bout some abnormal behaviour, so be a rational, what other it can be than some deviation from normal behaviour? All mammals are managed by their hormons.

  15. Saiyagin

    Saiyagin Chihuahua

    Let me make this short and simple, the endorphins can help a dog cope with pain and exhaustion to a degree but it WONT give them "WILL", (willingness) to cross that Scratch Line.
