If you get any puppy, from anyone, there are no guarantees. It could be a super hyper, hard keeper. It could turn out cold and shy. Or the other billion shades of grey. Solid bulldog and puppy are not compatible terms. If you want solid bulldogs, with a certain temperament and traits then you need to put in the hard work and make a careful selection. To me that means starting with a grown dog that possess most of what you want, breeding and selecting.

I wouldn't say I would never get a older dog from one of these kennels. Ask TG his average cull rate per litter. What's his criteria? If it's not walking in circles is it fit for sale? IDK. I don't know much about Frisco, but I remember most people saying he was afraid of his own shadow. How often is that trait popping up? Just a thought.

Tbe shyness in the dogs off of the Frisco line was one of the things i did not like early on. Some where good dogs but i prefer a dog with confidence saw quiet a few off of Ole Frisco who scared of the wind. But to the OP research as much as you can before buying a pup. Yis Ole Man

I feel I need to add a post on this thread, and give some well deserved kudos to TG for being a man of his word, "at least to me".
I had a dog from TG that was an "exit bitter", and for those of you that don't know what that means. It is a dog that may not be HA necessarily, but will bite you if he/she has a high prey drive and he/she fells you are preventing them from getting to what or where they want to get at, (in a nut shell).
To make a long story short, this dog bite my wife while on a walk as another dog was walking by, "there where other incidences, but I am trying to make this short". Now my dog was 2.5 years old at the time.
I told TG about this, and told him I needed to rehome the dog. And without me saying anything else, he said he felt that was a undesirable trait and offered to give me a new pup of my choice, and to find a new home for the dog of question. He not only found a new home, but paid for all the shipping and sent me a new pup of my choosing, which I currently have. So people can say what ever they want about TG, he will always be a "stand up" man in my book. And from now on I will never do business any where else!

I heard the same about Frisco, however once again Statistics speak for themselves as far as a producer of bad ass bulldogs go. I have two bulldogs heavy Frisco, I do not see a ounce of shyness at all in my bulldogs. They are buck as hell. Specimens world be a good word. Physically gifted, very smart and mentally sound. Honestly, I haven't got a bulldog yet that wasn't a physical specimen from TG aswell as crazy amounts of prey drive. Maybe it's because I did my home work on which breeding I chose to get a pup from. Maybe it's pure luck...either way I wouldn't trade my hounds for anyone else's.

tennessee what blood did your family run ? if they had it since the 50's there should be a nice line of dogs coming from all that had work .

Yes, there is a line if dogs. Mostly Eli/Carver stuff. Dogs down from Dibo, Tudors Spike and Boomerang. My Family is the Davis's...on my fathers side. EJ Davis, Baker Davis, Sunny Davis are my Great Grandfathers, Grandfathers, and Great Uncle.

No Sir, I never did breed that line. I was 15 before I got into these bulldogs for myself. I was way to young. Plus they had damn near stopped messing with these dogs completely by the time I took interest. They had a couple they kept and would breed back to from time to time...mainly just to keep the line alive. When I started my Grandfather got me a Pup of Art. So that's what I went with. I never really was a heavy breeder...maybe a couple litters here and there. I never had more than 5 hounds at once. Adult hounds. I moved to a more residential area and sold them all but my first one from my Grandfather and the last one I produced. Well they passed a couple years ago. First one died of old age. Second one got damn cancer in her spine. So I got out of bulldogs for a year or more. Then I talked to Tom G, Floyd B and a few others. I always was a Chinaman fan...so that's where I went. Glad I did. I got a few exceptional bulldogs now. Still not a heavy breeder. Maybe a litter every year or two. But I still keep in contact with Floyd. I would like a pup off his yard before he is not around any longer. He's a legend in my book. Plus I just love Black dogs. (Old Henry dogs). That's why I'm partial to Chinaman. My pups resemble that old Henry type blood a lot. Black mouths and penny copper eyes. Just beautiful to look at. Them Eli dogs bring a lot of mouth to the table.

I did end up with a pup down from Boomerang when my Great Grandfather passed...well not a pup. He was damn near 10 years old when I inherited him. One of the last few remaining at that time. My uncle sunny still runs that line a tad bit down in Florida. And my Grandmother Pat has one of them now at her house that's fat as hell and nothing but a couch potato. Sunny is in his late 60's so he mainly just does it out of love for those hounds now and to give him something to do. Still very wise and breeds tremendous dogs. But I'm saying a litter every other year or so as he can't keep up with many bulldogs.

You are correct the drive on a Frisco dog is outta this world. The good ones tend not to lack much at all. If you dont mind what are yours coming down off of. Yis Ole Man

Dynomite and Ceaser pups. That's my Frisco heavy hounds. Then I got two without a lot of Frisco... Around 25%. The others are Heavy Chinaman around 65% and one 50/50 Chinaman/Little Gator hound that is my favorite. He's a throw back to Chinaman...it's scary lol. I knew that dog was special when I went to Toms. I was immediately drawn to that pup. He was king of his roost. These Ceaser and Dynomite bulldogs I got are freakishly strong and built like brick shit houses. My Chinaman heavy dogs are all black...Henry type bulldogs and more lean just like Chinaman. I'm currently looking at a Pup off Kemo and Black snake. I've seen this bulldog and he's impressive. I also like El negro and there's a litter off him currently that's pretty damn nice to. But I'm not going to make my decision until I get my ass back up to bulldog hill and lay hands on these pups and check I'm out.

Nice I like the Dynomite stuff saw a few really good ones right off him. We just had litter off of one of Ch.Bullet sons last week. Always was curious about the El Negro blood love the way its bred. Sounds like you have nice yard of hounds. Yis Ole Man

Thanks man, I'm proud of them. I was very meticulous when I was rebuilding my program about which breedings I chose. I did a lot of research...foot work and asking some old timers aswell as others in the game running that line. I got 5 bulldogs...that's about all I want. All I can handle with working and all. However I'm really considering getting one more off Kemo or El Negro like I said. Those are just two really good bulldogs and Tom put them with some excellent Bitches. I'm on the fence though cuz I've always wanted a pup off Floyd's yard. Just to say I got one from the old timer. I went down to Floyd's not to long ago with my pops and he's got some old throw backs. I do think Toms Dogs are more confirmation sound. But shit, we know Floyd's not to concerned with that. Not to say he didn't have some that were confirmation correct because he did. I like a well put together bulldog. When they are put together right and worked real nice they are a beautiful creature to look at. Plus I believe it helps with athleticism when everything's the way it's supposed to be. There were a couple red dogs I liked that he had to. But like I said...I'm partial to those black dogs with them penny copper eyes. My Great Grandfather use to talk about that "type" of bulldog all the time. He said that was Tudors favorite to. Now I see why. Just something about them. Hell they look nice when ripped up to. I seen you got a black hound or two on your profile. They looking good buddy!

Thank you those black dogs are actually Chinaman/ Frisco crosses. I know how it feels to start over so to speak i always ran Jeep x Red Boy type dogs and the family that i ran is still top notch to this day and i still have unlimited access. But when my old female died, around that time there was another line/ family of dogs doing very well and one thing led to another and here i am, i still have Jeep x Redboy out back never not have one i guess. Just these dogs are different and i fell in love. Floyds dogs are beauitful i had a bitch bout 10yrs ago right of his yard beautiful dog everything u would want in a dog sent her down to my Cousin and some jealous ass hole gave like 12 dogs anti freeze huge loss all around the board. How is the Kemo dog producing ?? Yis Ole Man

Man, I hate to hear that about your Eli dog. Your Chinaman crosses look great! I could tell that's what he was just by looking. What's he out of? As far as Kemo goes...I been told by more than one person that he is one of the "great" producers in this era. Now I haven't seen enough of his off spring to say that myself. But some fine Dogmen have spoke very very highly of him....including Tom. Tom says he's going to be one of the "Greats" aswell if all the off spring go to the right folks. When I seen Kemo he was a looker. One damn good looking bulldog. Sucker has drive and don't give up for shit. I was very impressed with him alone. And to hear very respected Dogmen say Kemo is a exceptional producer and praise him like they do just raises the bar for me. That's why I don't think I can pass him up. Especially being put with Black snake. I liked her aswell. Should be a damn fine breeding. On paper it's awesome.
