I have been told that the reason for Buck having 2 pedigree's was to throw off other dog men to keep them from replicating the breeding that produced Buck basically this was done on purpose by Pat Patrick. That no one other than him really knows how buck was bred and that this was not uncommon in those times dog men didn't want other dog men to know what there secret to success was so to speak so putting out different information would throw off the competition. Some say Buck was a Bolio dog while other's say he was a Maloney dog.

Wow!!..smart move!!..I wonder wat the ppl said who bought a dog off buck??..it doesn't matter if it turnt out to be a bulldog but I'm pretty sure they still wanted to kno how he was actually bred..I kno I would

I will call Lola's breeder tomorrow just to reconfirm what I was told but I believe he submitted one handwritten ped to the ADBA and then he had another one that was given to STP. I am going to double check with someone for you to make sure that I am not giving out false info. But from my understanding Pat Patrick purposely had given out 2 different ped's on buck to throw off the competition and that dog men did this kind of stuff to keep others from trying to replicate what they did.

I think it probably didn't matter much to those guys as the dog's were coming off a very much proven dog. Buck was a very good box dog and I am sure that mattered more to them then a pedigree. But I have dog's off this blood and I can say for sure that there was a discrepancy about Buck and how he was bred and that no one knows for sure but the man who bred buck PP.

I don't think the guys who were breeding the buck family of dog's crossed into the Eli Blood from my understanding they kept the dog's within the same family and they were bred very tightly on the buck family of dogs. Mr. G from my understanding was very big about working within the same family he didn't out cross he worked with what he had.

These are 2 of my dogs you can see how heavy on that blood they are.. The bottom part of this ped my pups mom she is heavy on the buck blood.

  17. I have to agree with you that Cummings' Brandy was the heaviest Eli dog bred to Buck. I had one off this breeding, Allen Waldman of Island Kennels own both dogs and was the breeder of this litter, and on the pedigree is says "Golden Boy" being the sire to Buck. It has been said that Pat Patrick change the paperwork after "Golden Boy" died and needed another #1 stud dog so he change the paperwork based on the success of Buck. Buck and Brandy both made there CH status about the time this breeding was made or welped.

  18. CORRECTION - Here is what it should read:

I had to go back and look at the paperwork. Here is one from that breeding:
