I think Buzz came from a man in Canada name of Hersh (think that was his name) Buzz bred off Ronnie Duhon's famous Carver's Pistol x Miss Spike blood.. IMO Buzz was one of best producers ever in UK, I read somewhere Duhon's CH.Gatorson quit after a yard accident and culled on the spot, sometimes wondered if that was reason Buzz suddenly became available for sale, but I'm glad Hollingsworth got him since some of the best dogs I saw during the 80's were bred down off Buzz.. Not many people know that the same day the show between Scotsman's CH.Max and CH.Billy was being arranged, Scar kennels showed up and waited outside with forfeit in hand to offer Kogger 1xw into Scotsman's CH.Max.. Klogger went on to become a 4xw and eventually got stopped by Max son (Charlie) but Klogger remains one of best dogs I saw.. Klogger's brother (Dillon 2xw) also a good dog and produced Rayrock's Chainey and CH.Dino.. Good honest dogs! Always like the look of this, pity it never got done!

I think it would have been a war mate, could have gone either way.. Back then I betted with my heart, so I would've put everything I owned on Max winning, today I bet with my brain (what little I have) so I'd have put 'half what I owned' on Klogger winning:) The dog was brutal man and Scar Kennels were a force at any level who always brought a bulldog!

I knew D well and a nicer better person couldn’t be found anywhere, a true gent.
Buzz didn’t suddenly become available, he was ordered & brought over as a young pup from Hersh Frydman. I think he might have been the first import after Reid brought in his first 4 dogs.
Buzz himself was a very underrated dog, I still feel he was the best producer of the early 80’s. He wasn’t the most fertile of dogs and didn’t produce large sized litters so his numbers were down compared to other dogs of the time, I think his total number of offspring was only around the 30ish mark. He sadly became infertile in 86 I think, like a good few I bred to him after this in the vain hope of getting that last litter.
The show with Dillinger was a complete mismatch. Buzz was 2-3lbs below what I considered his best weight and still made it look easy. Buzz was later 2 dogged and proved himself to be a bulldog.
Like yourself I’d like to have seen what Buzz-Tug could’ve produced. Unfortunately the Limeys were to blinkered beyond trying something other than Nelis/Spike over Tig. Despite Limeys running down Buzz I think D would’ve done it.
The article on Buzz above is incomplete and doesn’t mention a few of his offspring. I to think some of the best dogs of the 80’s were Buzz dogs, I do know some of the well known titled dogs that ppl drool over today might not have gained those titles if they hadn’t of avoided Buzz and his offspring.
