i never and would never feed any type of canned dog food, as

    a; its full of preservatives

    b; its full of water

c; the general rumour is alot of what is labeled as "beef" is actually horse meat

no i dont have any proof but the horse thing is well known.
i have a meat exporter in my family , which obviously helps me get anything fresh regularly but even if that was the case i still wouldnt use it ever.
try feeding a yard of five dogs canned food with your kibble and see how it effects your pocket, compared to buying fresh meat which you pretty much know where it comes from.

with your "freedoggin" thread i am assuming you have surplus canned food, use it with any fresh meat as a mix if you want to get rid of it, mix it with your normal feed you will still be making a saving.

but i have never used it and never will.

in my old store we never ever sold any canned food and we would rarely order a specific brand in aqnd only by the clients request.
we sold human grade meat to our clients in any size minced, unminced,, cubed and cooked in a meatloaf type mix, pretty much however our clients would want it.
when you are spoilt for choice there is never any need to buy a product that is inferior to what else is availible.

i would think that as much as 45% of canned food is water, and it was never confirmed or denied from any of the brand reps which i had to deal with. to not deny it says it all to me.

but yes if you want to feed it yes feed it, everyone has a different opinion of what premium brands best traits are and have faith in the brands or dont, people get results in different ways, i have however come across a lot of clients who either hunted very often or were in agility or weight pull type events , or raced or coursed their dogs, i have seen alot of people change brands of the apparent same caliber, and saw a rapid change in the working dogs once the brand changed. the brands that i would use are obviously the ones ive either seen or heard from reliable people made a difference to them.

i wouldnt publicly bad mouth any company so i wont mention labels at all, but for example i know of a brand that is not in the premium label type , just under but its a little bit cheaper, not by much but have given me same results as a couple of the big name brands.

So from what you say even though it is not listed it is loaded with preservatives
I believe the loop hole to food additives is if a food company receives a food source
(a batch of meat) the food company does not have to tell what the last company did to food item.
I spoke to a butcher and he told me all old unsold meats, rotten meats, and animal parts are sold off to dog food companies so I am sure horses and or PUT out to pasture horses get mixed in to a massive food batch which in turn is lace with preservatives and sold as a standardized meat product for pet companies , When you come down to it dogs eat canned food but it’s not like they like it more then real meat or chicken.
Well as of now I don’t buy dog food so I can at least buy some real meat RAW and supplement, I believe I heard I have to freeze meat for 2 weeks to kill off any parasites further more my wife feels raw meat make dogs have a wolf like altitudes so she would want to cook it, regardless I will pick up some chop meat put it in smaller zip bags Freeze for the next 2 weeks and start a new raw routine. I guess I’ll mix it with the canned food which now your telling me is shit and I believe it
The same must be for kibble since they use meat, I guess the dry dog food that states deboned chicken of lamb or organic must be the way to go. WELL what I have been finding was garbage on the shelf and garbage in the dumpster, either way it’s hard to break away from what is sold as dog food for pets.

I am feeling a bit confused like a bubble has been busted based on a truth of what dog food companies must really be selling , Can dogs live longer on Raw ? I mean do dogs live like 20 plus years on raw or is it just they look better and perform better.?
