That's a great book, but don't live in the past. The Colby dogs are not fast lane- despite what most of the ameturs here will tell you.

I believe the Colby line of dogs to be the best in the world . It is the purest family of game dogs all young dog men should get a Colby bitch for brood stock . jmo

I've always been interested in Colby dogs, My first introduction to this breed was a Colby dog in 1976, It was my step uncle's dog, he was always drunk so I feed and watered the dog most everyday! I found enough balls to ask him for the dog, and Got smacked for it, so I took that as a NO! I ended up taking care of the dog when he got pinched on some federal gun charges, nobody could approach the dog except me! He beat it, fed it gunpowder and made him mean and fought him that way! WHAT A LOSER THAT DUDE was!
Anyways I've never owned another Colby dog since, I've always kinda wanted another, but Everything I've seen and heard, sort of steers me away from that line, Maybe one day if I can find some decent working stock I might give one a try, and see how it works out on some of my linebred stuff to see what kind of fire they throw! Maybe!

 

Fastlane or not most people who say negative things about Colby dogs have never seen one, fed one, or ruined the dog before it had time to mature. What I based my yard on cuts against the grain. I never have been the type to go with what is popular and will not start now. I catch a lot of shit for it but I'll take my dogs over the next man's any day. :cool:

 

Best how? That laughable. All our dogs come from the Colby line, but the modern Colby line, throws some of the lowest percent of good hunting dogs around. If you were working the line you would know better- but that's okay you can live in the past, and hell if you don't work the dogs you will never know the difference.

 

I hear one of his kins has pure colby somewhere by ny. Anyone knows what they go for??$$$ u wanna get that colby dog and some tight carver stuff and u cant go wrong!

Colby dogs make great pets and some of them are very beautiful. I've also been told they make a good outcross but I wouldn't use it myself. Other than that i don't think you're going to find the roughest dogs around in Colby dogs. They used to be the best. And people used to drive model T cars but things change.

 

Tell me why would dog men like FAT B. An others breeding colby dogs into there dogs.

I talked to Fat B . Two weeks ago he said he had just a sent bitch up to Colby's place to be bred. An if I remember right FAT B. said he would never breed to a curr .

Plus when you buy a Colby dog you know its a Colby dog unlike most of these dogs beeing sold today with the nice looking fake peds .
