  4. i have also noticed from my own research and experience alot of lines that have little or no reds in the recent heritage if linebred and inbred eventually start showing this trait i have even had them be dark chocolate or solid white which i know from genetics is rare but it's just a recessive trait

Con feeley was there rubbing shoulders with Colby a few times gathering dogs off the ship.. Like Lightener and Colby both have dogs that were here before as well... http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=82203

This is one.. just one.. but a real good example if you click down the third generation and then back arrow you can see the whole 7 gen and see how their dogs intertwine and the times as well.. It seems like I seen a dog or two that is OFRN that had a smidge of confeely as an out with lightener stuff but it was the lightener colby stuff I believe they used to fuse a catalyst for his own strain.. yes most of the OFR and OFRN is founded in lightener and colby. The world was small back then I imagine. Only so many could have access to the dogs and keep em pedigree'd in colbys book he touched on how you'd have to weed through the hustlers and theives and might get knocked in the head for someone to make a quick buck in the []'s .. Most important 3 fellers that contributed to the APBT from the get go; we can discuss that didn't are right here on this page. Con feeley Colby and Lightener all made good outs for each other.. all had same origins for portions if not most of their stock.

I had some lightener blood influxed .. good stuff. Joplin police record a 4-5hr bout while they had 2 officers and ACO witnessing what they called a dominance dispute and only wanted to insure they didn't leave the yard. I got home just as it was all settled. The big dog shook the lil dog loose and they both went to opposite sides of the yard and collapsed. I got a warning and props all from the boys in blue. both dogs were in top condition, just moved from nowata hog country to Jtown cement walls, they were bored and had a female in heat in a stock pen. .. Dont figure you can go wrong with the oldies.. the oldies are the goodies. :)

I felt the same about Oklahoma.. then my eyes opened. I wanted to live in the mtns with a year round hunting season for big game of some sort.. Yup.. Idaho/Washington GREAT NW indeed.

  6. No, Dan McCoy was the FIRST person to coin the term Old Family Red Nose. They were not calling the dogs that back in Ireland. But the strain did already exist in Ireland, contrary to one some are saying in here. The original red coated, red toe nailed, auburn colored eyed dogs are native to Ireland

yes McCoy was first to coin the term , but OFRN never was an Irish strain , most USA imports from Ireland came in all colours ,
