biggest wives tail "bulldogs dont have a fight flight instinct". there's been plenty of apbt that jumped the wood looking for the exit. we had one that would piss himself at the sight/sound of a lawn mower. damn neer would hang himself on his spot trying to get away. and that sob could do it all & did everything a fella would want. 100% bulldog but scared shitless of mowers he'd probably have a heart attack if looking across at a weed wacker.

  2. Haha my apbt used to be scared of sweeper until he decided to attack it. My pup hases sweeper, riding mower dirtbikes whatever. Scared of elctric fence tho, till the farmers dog(s) come down and if they get too close or barks at my boy hell charge it on occasion. I dont live in town near ppl so dont rain down irresponsible comments please.

I don't hunt with bulldogs. I hunt with hounds. We don't want a hound that runs too catch. There is no dog alive that can single handedly whip a pissed off mtn. Lion.

The fellas I know do not use bulldogs to run coyotes either. They also do not call them in. Call bullshit on what ever you want but one thing you can't call bullshit on is the fact we eat, sleep and shit track dogs.

Most hounds are not built like bulldogs. Our dogs are all wind no muscle. We do not need muscle. I love bulldogs just as much as the next guy but dang, they do not touch hounds in a long race.

this thread is about apples, and your talking oranges

  6. I had catch dog and bay dog backwards in original post i believe. Of course a coyote is faster than a bulldog.

no...theyre not. they do have more endurance, but in a short race a determined bulldog can run a coyote down. fact

im not talking out my ass here...ive seen it done a million times. a bulldog can run down, close the gap, and put an end to a coyote. we aint talking about about bulldogs vs greyhounds fellas. coyotes are a small canine, nothing more nothing less... not some mystical racedog.

  8. Thank you LeeD. I always appreciate experienced answers. Ive always thought coyotes were extremely fast. Gives me hope for my dogs lol. Do they they always run in packs?

  9. Also does a dog need to be conditioned for this? My boys run all day on our property, and throughout the woods. Conditioned in your guys eyes, not at all. Theyre basically pets that live on a farm.

When the pups grow to adulthood, they may leave the pack. This creates a lot of “transient” coyotes, who are moving in search of an open territory....and pack members don’t necessarily stay with each other 24 hours a day....so there are many opportunities for you to see a single adult.

and yes, you probably should condition your dog. in the fall i start running Riot in the morning and at night. that pic i posted of him was taken out the window of my jeep at about 25mph. he does 4 miles in the am, and another 4 at night

  11. Tha.ks again and that dog Riot, is nice!

Where in ohio do you hunt. I only ever hunted yotes with a rifle. I also just got some trail cam pics of some hogs, first time in 20 years they showed up in my area. Going out soon to try and rid them. I hunt in Hocking county. I got a bird dog which i think can track them but dont think he would bay them. It would be nice to have a bull dog in there with him.

does anyone know if its legal in indiana I thought of using string type snares and then letting the dog finish I had a male that was 67lbs and could run 35mph and could run for miles like a hound without any real conditioning except for pulling 300lbs on a bmx bike 1.5 to 2.5 miles at closeto 33mph the fastest pitbull i've ever seen i dont know how fast he could go by himself with no leash i think about 40mph no joke
