Dog you think that need more credit these days

I think one dog to start off with will be trahan's rascal ONLINE PEDIGREES :: [55] :: TRAHAN'S RASCAL (6XW) I mean when you look threw great dogs peds this dog just seems to pop up some more than others bullet , boomerang the list goes on and on!

I think those dogs got plenty of credit, probably more than they deserved. The dogs that deserve more credit these days are the dogs of these days. Most are probably just as good as the past legends with more probably being better dogs. Just as those dogs had questions and werent legends until their time passed so will the dogs of today and folks will still be saying, dag sure wish i would of bred to that dog back then.. Awesome Beast who I'm not a fan of but respect is one of the greatest dogs to wear a collar period. GrCh beat 2 Ch's won BIS 2x was also DOY, a ROM producer with around 10-12 pts, has a GrCh son who is also on his way to being ROM with already producing 2 Ch's and i dont believe Awesome Beast was bred more than 18x if i'm not mistaken..

 

. Good info my boys up north run that blood up north they talk bout it all the time. I think the dogs we named got credit but not like dogs we always see thread on every day! REDBOY ,snooty, Jocko , jeep , etc these are the dogs that get all the credit read all the threads . And As for new blood better than old blood my boy said the samething i say suit your self I will have a yard full of hot oldschool blood from the old action days over this new mess any day a I know what's going to stay in there the longest!!

 

How does a person know what is going to stay were and for what amount of time before hand solely based on a(hot old school?) pedigree? How much credit does a dog in the 6th/10th generation deserve? how does it matter today or when it counts... seems it all only matters down the road, and if it happens to work out(for pup sales, and conversation). Should one give Blind billy the credit or does it go to his daddy or grand daddy?), seems for some it is all in the/a name- you state Trahans rascal why not Bruce's Jerry(how much credit is he given?)A person could start a whole new older school more secret line, just as hot just older school by picking a name a few more generations back. Would it be better if redboy people say Teal's Sarge? Jocko could be Mayfields Duke(pure bloodline LOL)? Seems people want to start some archeological pedigree dig to some holy magical pedigree place which only produces winners, all game litters where all dogs at the very least reproduce their CH & GR CH selves-if you have no good winning and reproducing of winning dogs in the first three, wont much matter whats in the back 10. Credit is gotten by those who deserve it from those who know, it does not have to be a universal accreditation.

The only people who seem to care about the majority of dogs that far back in a pedigree are peddlers who stack dead dogs in a pedigree and are for ever chasing a dog that died 20 or more years ago. How relevant do people really think the dogs are in the 5th generation or back further than that? I rarely look beyond the first 4 generations of any pedigree because to me, it's too far back to give any of those dogs the credit for the dog standing in front of me.
The only relevance of dogs from the 5th generation back IMO is strictly for nostalgic purposes. Like what was already said, you can have all these famous producers and winning dogs in your dogs pedigree but if you ain't got a working dog or proven producer of working dogs in the first 3 or 4 generations than it really don't matter what you got back in the 5th or further back.

IMO the dogs who usually don't get the credit they deserve are the bitches these dogs are being bred to in most cases seeing as they contribute to the gene pool as well....

Almost every one has a fav historical dog yes thats fine and dandy, i think the problem came in when you start talking old school gonna be there in the end not exact quote. Redboy , Jeep , Jocko ect... are old school dogs i would say been dead and gone for awhile now dogs that have made a mark in the history of this breed have had their day in the sun so to speak. No one was talking about you but when you have been around awhile its peddlers that brag on how many times some long dead dog is in the back of their dogs ped as a selling tool to newbies to sell trash. All new school comes from different blends of old school. Thing is sometimes some of us keep refering to an old school dog far back in our dogs ped, ignoring the different crosses and breedings that resulted in the direct ancestors in the 1st 3 generations. Usually its because the dogs in the 1st 3 gens have been bred despite achieving nothing or being worthy except for having that old school dog as an ancestor. Typical of peddlers.
So if theres dogs not getting credit it is usually the more recent dogs in a ped that produced our dogs and the females that were bred to the famous old school dogs. We will constantly hear about eli dogs and not eli x glory bee dogs or eli x spook dogs (although spook does get a mention now and again), or jeep / redboy dogs instead of jeep x tabby or jeep x fanny. The poor bitches are always overlooked.

I agree with you about basketball but you are mistaken if you believe some of the present or new school dogs are nothing compared to yester years dogs. Like i stated earlier i like the stories on those old dogs as most do. But in these dogs it is a must to breed better dogs with each generation, your logic is a dog with a bunch of old greats in his ped would out perform a "new school mess" the point being made by everyone here is if the dogs upfront have done nothing other than being bred that famous dog in there 10 gen sure aint gonna help they asses .
