im not sure if its been posted, but one that drives me crazy is "chaining a dog makes them mean"

 

joey..I know the EXACT dog you are talking about...and ufortunately its true...thats all those dogs are about is $$...no purpose other than lining pockets...people only buy bullies because they see the enormous amounts being charged and the dollar signs start dancing in their eyes....

 

yeah I forgot how long ago I had came across such a retarded human move, but that's correct! money money money it's almost as if those bullies were dog drugs! this morning this guy was having a dispute with me saying his 80 pound blue nose of watchdog and ruffian bloodlines is DEAD GAME. He said because the dog is over the top dominant and has a high "ball prey drive" that is apart of his dead gameness. Also he told me that he has "tested" him regarding gameness (he lives in canada) and that he proves to be game just because he's showing aggression towards another dog.

correct me if I am wrong but is that a game dog?

I know this is off topic a bit but, are there famous "blue" game dogs of the past? :confused:

I talked to a person one time that had a brindle pit. I asked them what bloodline it was and they told me "its a tigerstripe". I didn't want to offend them but I did. I said you mean brindle then I said the color of the dog is not the bloodline. They had no clue.

 

Doesnt everyone know that to make dogs fight you have to starve both dogs then throw a steak and let them go?

When i was snooping around some american bully kennels websites, i came accross a particular site. The dogs were hidieous, but the sit was very well put together, none of that Gangster wannabe hardcore shit that you usually get with bully owners. None of the "WE SELL XXL MASSIVE BULLIES". So im reading around and the guy seems very knowledgeable on the breed, not the kind who think bullies are some huge fighting monsters. As i keep reading i see a comment that says the bully is the ULTIMATE guardian dog and protector of the home, he will protect you with its life and ferociously take down an enemy if threatened......IN my head im thinking how the fuck is a foot tall, 100 pound, bow legged slow ass animal gonna take down ANYBODY! and to top it off, this guys claimes there are 2 major lines of pitbulls. "you have the RED NOSE and BLUE NOSE pitbulls..FAIL

And shock when I tell people that no she is not a puppy and is fact a full grown dog. There seems to be this idea with some people that APBTs are supposed to be very large dogs. I always thought my bitch was on the heavy side (53lbs) but some people think she is a puppy at that size.

 

I have to say viegas, based on what I've seen I would guess they would be effective man stoppers.

Just that sort of weight behind a decent mouth, and the dog from hell image along with the fact that people dont like getting bit, I think they would be at least a deterrent.
Also I think there are varying degrees of ridiculousness in those animals.

i know im kinda late but i just discovered this thread and its quite fun and sad at the same time. so i was exploring youtube and came across the usual bully video crap(im sure you guys know what im talking about). n i commented the video saying 'thats not an aptb, thats a bully' n a couple days later that guy comments me outta no where saying 'hes an amstaff u pr*ck' haha. fattest,shortest amstaff ive ever seen. i never replied.

that ones actually not too good compared to your guyses experiences haha, but let me tell you, living in southern california and walking a seal(blue for those of you not in the know,haha) pit down the street (rescue, doesnt weigh more than 50 lbs though.) is quite a challange. although i love california to death, sometimes i wish i was raised in a less idiotic part of the US like i know some of you guys live in farms and such. and i could be involved in hunting and what not. you get the stupidest remarks form the bully crowd over here.

My ex BF met my gurl for the first time on Sat & he Goes "FOR A PITBULL SHE NOT ALL THAT AGGRESSIVE"...omgs i cracked up I told him "Its all how u raise them"...and my mates mum goes to me one time wen i was visiting "WHAT ARE YOU GONA DO WITH STUNNAH ONCE SHE STARTS KILLING"...hahaha i laughed & shook my head & told "SHE WONT START KILLING COS SHES BEEN RAISED WELL & BEEN VERY WELL SOCIALIZED"...LOL..SOME PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD JUST HAVE NO IDEA LOL..

 

In a way I don't agree. You should never expect your PITbull not to fight other dogs regardless of how it is raised. APBTs were bred for hundreds of years to fight. Some of the most dog aggressive dogs I have seen have been fixed and in loving socialized homes. Honestly,No matter how much you train a pointer not to point or a retriever not to retrieve you can't change what your dog was originally bred for. One day your dog might decide it doesn't like the lab around the corner. DA happens.
