I owned this male. Two lines of Skull, mostly a Maverick dog. He was the most destructive dog I ever owned or seen. He could demolish a wood dog house in less than a day. A plastic barrel would be a two piece unit in a day or so. Start on the end and go until he just about cut it in half. He would dig beside the axle until a the axle just fell over. When we picked him up he had a hole big enough to bury a grown man. One day I put him in a pen to fix his house and fill in some holes and he grabbed the car tire tug I made and it was on. I then found him a 16" truck tire and he never touched the house again. Stopped digging altogether and fought that tire for what seemed like 23 hours out of the day. All hours of the night he bit and tossed it like there was no tomorrow.

and this daughter. She almost as destructive but not with pshycosis like him. She turned out to be a heck of a dog, just had no teeth. As powerful and athletic as any bitch I ever owner or seen. A monster. She absolutely loved doing what she was bred to do. She would work all night if allowed to do so. She loved competition but didn't have enough equipment to compete with.

I should have kept her and bred back to her bottom side. That was a mistake I made a number of years ago.

I saw one of Macho Man II's brothers and he was a digger as well. Maybe worse. I saw one of his sisters and she was as good a bulldog as anyone would ask for, hard worker, rough little girl and would work all night if need be.

I would like to cross into that again some day. S

I liked Skull a lot but Reno better. Actually any son of Maverick was worth his salt.

I do not have a peds account. Basically put in a famous dog, say Jeep or Mayday, then change the ID number at the end to the above dogs and they will pop up. Those are peds I saved over the years. I do not know how to make them active links. S

In hindsight Larry would be my choice 10 out of ten times. Skull produced some good.. some bad just like all the rest and Larry was no exception. I had one off of him, (Skull) that was a fine metal detector but not much good for anything else. I saw some off of him I'd be proud to own.... but if I could go back and make the choice today... I'd pick Larry and never think twice.

Maverick was a fine dog. Many of his sons were not commercialized as some. We had a nice one in our neck of the woods. He went through some wrong hands that bred him to chit and didn't take care of him like he deserved to be.

One of the most consistant cross breedings came from that line into Stu Fowler. Those boys in Monterey sent every Eli jr, and Bullyson gyp they had to him. That breeding REALLY clicked, they actually created A family from that breeding I think is still around today! I bred my bullyson gyp to him he was 13/14 one of the last breedings 1975 I believe. You keep out crossing and out crossing you'll end up with hard hitters that will beat you back to the house! Over 40 yrs. I've seen it time and again!
