  1. Hey guys I have time to make a decision, good would b my first time buying a well bred dog from good hunting stock. I've had my share of backyard bred dogs. Thinking of getting a gyp down off of Andy capp or a tg bred Frisco×Lee Ling gyp. I want the line that throws the more consistent well rounded hounds. I want the opinion of the veterans on here

You are not likely to get anything from a working camp ! just go with TG and try your luck.

  3. If I go with a Boyles pup, would it b a good choice if it's coming thru the Andy camp stuff?

You can buy a pup off 2 Gr. Ch.s and still end up w/ a dog not worth feeding (unless your breeding for fancy pedigrees only). All you can do is go w/ a kennel that has had a good success rate The only way to go is to find a proven gyp that has had successful litters. Good luck on finding anyone is willing to part with - and then it's going to take a basket full of $$$.

What catches my attention most is the fact you title the thread FOUNDATION GYP. With the evident lack of knokwledge the title leads me to think your getting these dogs in order to breed and make money. Now these may not be your intentions and I could be jumping the gun, just remember it's the title that lead me to that conclusion. Also a FOUNDATION GYP,IMO should be proven stock, but there are differing opinions on that. Anyhow I hope you intend to go further with the breed in the right way. For whatever reasons you intend.

Good advice MUDVILLE,I was hoping this was a thread on foudation bitches...
Best advice is to buy an older bitch that has all the traits you are looking for...
Breed her to the best stud you can find and keep the litter....
REPEAT a couple times to differnt studs, weed thru all those...
And after all that, MAYBE JUST MAYBE youll have a FOUNDATION GYP...
Next generations and good compition always will tell....

Thanks EP. I try not to criticize, but I will point out and try to steer away. I myself have come a long way with this breed, lot's of road still to travel, and I love every step.

  14. I came here asking for sound advice and opinions from more knowledgeable ppl of quality dogs than myself. I know guys here have dealt with the lines that i mentioned earlier and could direct me to which branch of these lines which are producing the more consistent dogs at a higher percentage rate. That's is all I'm asking not for smartass remarks but honest direction and opinion

Mudville gave u good constructive advice and was correct in how ur title and inititial post could lead anyone to believe u want to obtain a bitch just to breed. That assumption may be wrong, but take the time to read thru some of the responses without ur ego and u may find useful info that could help u going forward. Now to think just because u asked u going to get the info u seek is ur 1st mistake. Guys who dont know u are unlikely to intro u to anyone who has the quality of stock u looking for. Hell for all they know u could be five 0, now u may also not be, but u need to earn the trust of guys on here and getting all heated up because u didnt get the responses u hoped for wont help u get that info.

First sentence "Hey guys I have time to make a decision, good would b my first time buying a well bred dog from good hunting stock."

What's the rush? Some of these guys have a lifetime worth of knowledge and you expect it to be handed over on a silver platter. Everyone has a different opinion on what works best for them selves. That being said take the time and search this site as much info can be found here for you to make your own decisions. Take your time and do the homework I always feel that what is meant to be will fall into place and show itself.

You came to this site asking for honest opinions and direction. Which by some of the prior posts others, as well as I believe that was provided. Now I will not claim to be more knowledgeable, nor will I claim to have superior hounds. What I did say was I hoped you go further with the breed with good intentions, for WHATEVER reasons you have. Now with that said, have a nice one and plug away if you please. I have more knowledgable people with higher caliber dogs to spend my time with. Hope you find your Andy CAMP dogs.
