I had an accident yesterday, dogs got out and ended up mauling a sheep... I had to dispatch him to prevent further suffering.

Thankfully my neighbor was cool, I processed the animal and dropped off meat for him...

    the joys of pitbull ownership:-)

I keep my dogs like like big banks. Chains, lock, camera and pen. Have seen yard mishaps, over the fence and take out foo foo going for a evening stroll with the family. Sad man. At least u get to eat it.

Sounds like a proper set up Roller. Going to put locks, my 4 yr old son left a gate open and the perimeter gate was open also... some dumb luck and that was it...

It must be impossible to escape. Fenced up all around, so nobody from the oudside can lay eyes on them, locked kennels with a light in it,roofs on top of it, locked gate, concrete floors. Build like an goddam prison but with all the extra's such as a good bed plus isolated doghouse, plenty of exercise and good food. No TV internet or radio, LOL. Take Care for everyone's safety.

Naw man! Come on. Its not like that. I have three pens yes big but its only the thats really bad. But hes the one thats in the house alot and only if i go out hes like that. They are all rotated but bad guy gets most house and free run time. The other two are ok. Just a pen and all the luxries of life. I know sounds like over kill for bad guy but if u met him thats all he does is eat ,shit ,sleep, workout ,rough house , acts like a suck, and plans how to take out anything with fur.

It is how I have kept them way back as that's was the best solution at here. IT was safety first. Good luck with the bad boy and your other dogs.

27 years long time. U must still think about keeping a house bud. I lost a old my old guy and went 2 years nothing. Then one morning i woke up sweating didnt go to work. Didnt say bye to the wife and kids. Just went straight to bank took out a thousand bucks. Teller probably thought i needed it for drugs. Went on a 16 hour car ride and came home with a gamebred, pretty paperd dog that looked like parrot.. But all of a sudden i could breathe. Kids were happy and wife said i didnt want to ask if your ok with the wild look in your eye. But i know what u mean. I cant really travel along with other stuff. But for i now i need em.

    FWK,
correct, that is the way to secure them. Ultimately, they’re potentially dangerous and very capable animals. I have started to upgrade security already, I don’t think I can stand another frantic call from my wife and mulling the worse case scenarios over while driving back from work to deal with the situation. When I caught up to them(3) they had already destroyed the sheep and was boring a hole in another neighbors chain link fence to get to some of his dogs. The female was halfway through.
The worst case scenario played out for a guy who has bought a couple dogs from me. His dogs got out and mauled two people, one fatally. They escaped after a some thieves entered his yard to steal avocados... A long story and according to him, “ a longer story from bite to courthouse and back”...

Yes, til your wife calls at 5AM in a frantic state letting you know there are problems in the back and you are 40 minutes from home you do not really appreciate a proper setting.

My dogs have always been on chains and the yards fenced in, more so than nothing can get in than them getting out. If one were to get off the chain he will usually go no further than the one next to him.

I have had a couple over the years and both were a mess. Both my fault.

When you have bulldogs no matter what goes wrong and I say again, no matter what goes wrong it is your fault.

Let that guide your kenneling decisions.

I call myself doing chain and hardware inspections on the regular.

I had not had a dog in this spot for sometime and brought in a male off my Stump dog. I put him n the chain and three or four days later I checked the chains.

I am only a 1/16" or 1/8th", or a few millimeters from a disaster. A valuable dog(s) and two to three years of work gone due to being wreckless and careless (the dumbass award would have been mine and mine alone)

And to babble further. We were walking CH Charlie 4XW (Mims Spiffy/Lucky) and the snap hook on the lead broke as he was pulling down the road. He broke away, went under a barbed wire fence and mauled a goat.

The owner jacked the price some and took advantage of his position. We paid $250 for a $100-$150 goat. But being the way it is to keep it private I would have bought the goat for $500.

We dressed him down and fed it to the dogs.

Like us, you are lucky the neighbor go public/law enforcement on you.

I had a simular scenario happen with a lead between my Charlie and Geachison.

They were chain neighbors divided by a 4' fence so they didn't constantly try to get at each other. I was taking Charlie back after a walk to put him back on his chain when the spring in the clasp of the lead must have popped out and the clasp opened right up. I was still walking left while we was trotting right. That quickly a yard accident happened. Poor Charlie was free and never even got his mouth on Geach. Geach had him by the top of his head burying Charlie's face in the dirt. Didn't go as Charlie thought it was going to go I guess. Took him 20 minutes to calm down once I put him back on his chain.

I have 3 barriers to deter them from escape from my yard. Anyone who owns one of these dogs should take the utmost precautions to contain them. If one of mine gets off this yard loose it will end up on the news for sure. The domino effect that would happen after that would be real bad as well.

I treat these dogs like they are land sharks. One gets loose and there is going to be carnage. I'm always checking latches and perimeter fencing every day I feed. When I could have them on chainspots, the hardware got checked every day. After that incident with Charlie, I never used a pull down clasp lead again either. They'll fail.

This is Hatchet about two hours in to his daily task of trying to pull down this tree.

He goes thru hardware on the regular as he never stops moving.

Good times never end .Left a little one in the bathroom last night and she chewed supply line up on the toilet so dam water every dam where. So I had go to dam Walmart and get a new supply line and replace it and clean up the dam water lol. What a way to start off Father's day and now off to cut a dam tree up that fell during the storm yesterday in a chain spot.I actually moved that dog to another spot before the storm because of the tree.It was to dangerous to cut but mother nature took care of it.
