Very insightful, thank you. I guess it's the fact that I'm a fan of current dogs and thought it'd be nice to have down the road 20 years. But perhaps the dogs 20 yrs from now will be better. Thanks for replying.

I think the OP refers to old blood on ice that are proven producers and where it is. Unfortunately he wasn't clever enough to mention the lines of the bitches he wants to breed to. Any male is only a contributor. As an old breeder told me.... He only has a penis not a magic wand. Lots of old stock on ice but perhaps mentioning what you have might make a clearer image of what to match to it.

You can store a bunch of straws for 350 bucks a year. That's cheap as hell. I'm surprised, I had expected a higher premium.

@bigo, exactly what bloodlines are you looking for? You'd have to determine what blood you're interested in and then perhaps go for a line bred/ inbred stud that has the genes of the dogs your looking for bred in tight into the dogs pedigree. Inbred stud dogs are just like storing a good dogs genes. People that store straws usually ask an arm and a leg before you can get the stuff off of them.
