Thanks for posting the pics, we had a blast!

My female pup, Fallon took a best Puppy trophy on Sat. and a 2nd (to her littermate) on Sunday!

My young male CH got pulled out on Sat but didn't place either day...

My female CH made Grand Champion this weekend!!!! She won both female champion classes. On Sat. the judge said he wanted to split it and give us each half.... On Sunday she only needed 2 points to G/C and to receive those points from Hank Greenwood made it extra special. His father wrote the ADBA standard. I know my bitch gets looked down upon because she is a fawn-bluie and to overcome what she has in the past 2 years is amazing... as Hank said, "I don't look at color I just look at how they're put together..."

Our lil white bitch workhorse pulled on Sat. for her second time and took a 3rd on Sunday in a big class! We are very proud of her!

My girlfriend/partner, Crystal and a couple of other novice weight-pullers received dirty looks and other comments during the weight pull and the whole deal left a bad taste in my mouth... All i gotta say is, knowing Crystal..... the way I know Crystal.... IF and it's a big "IF" she decides to go into this weight pull full force she going to use those rude comments and dirty looks as motivation to come and kick all those folks asses in a couple years!!!!

mikefromMD -- I am sorry Crystal got dirty looks and heard things like that. I didn't even go over to the weight pull side, but i genuinely hope no one in Georgia is trying to discourage ANY participation in positive bulldog sports!!! :(

Congrats on your wins Mike and Crystal!

The whole wt pull fiasco was a damper on an otherwise great wknd. Thanks to TriState for her help in fixing the situation. :)

I pulled Angus on Sun. and got a third place pulling 2068 lbs! This was only his second time pulling and Im very happy with what he has done so far. :D

  6. Weight pull can make people ugly! LOL definitley use it as fuel for the fire!

  7. im sorry you guys thank the weight pull was a fiasco. no body is discouraging anybody from wanting to pull, that is why there was a novice class, and there was 5 weight pull judges over there that had no problem with it. mike your girlfriend didnt get any dirty looks. she said she didnt want to pull sunday cause she wasnt ruining her dog, the cart was pulling easier sunday then saturday, and the weight we started with on sunday she pulled in 6 secs on saturday, and would have pulled faster on sunday, that was only thing said to her. we tried to help all the people over there, not trying to piss anybody off but mike if you was over there you would have seen what happened, and as far as the other dog, she was confused on what she was doing, we had no problem fixing the mistake, she made it a bigger deal then it was, the southeast has some of the biggest pulls in the ADBA, and that is cause we try to encourage everybody to pull and help them. just your friend was wanting to try and discuss something during the middle of competition in the ace class, and you need to wait until after a class is over and not interrupt the pull. the other problem is if your dog pulling is in the show ring, then the pull has to wait, your friends where showing other dogs then what was been pulled and we dont have to wait on them, that is why they are made. read the rules of weight pull, and miss falcon knows this, did you guys tell her that, know, we was more then patient with them, cause we knew they were new to the weight pull. and the dogs you guys brought down look like they are going to be good dogs. i guess it comes down to if you dont understand something ask questions, dont assume something, cause we all know what assume means, make an ass out of u & me. other then this the weight pull was great, some of the best competition we have had so far. just like in the confirmation people are just as competitive in the weight pull, and we had some competitive people there that i know for a fact are not as patient with people as they were this weekend. so dont go start saying something about something that you only heard one side of the story. and i want to reiterate nobody was giving them bad looks or talking bad about them, and nobody was trying to screw anybody, this isnt the confirmation ring it happens over there, but it weight pull you can only screw yourself. and thanks for coming and i am willing to help anybody with anything and solve any problems and we got it all fixed.
and scratchin dog i personally told you and the wp judge told you we would solve your problem after the ace class, and you obviously didnt understand, we would have solved the issue with out tri-state if you would have waited until after the class like we asked you.

  8. other then one group, there was nobody complaining and everybody enjoyed the weight pull, and said they would be back, and was one of the best pulls they came to. so i dont see how it is the clubs fault or anybody in the pull. just a lack of knowledge with new pullers. understandable. you have to speak up and tell us you are new, if not we take it that everybody is experienced, and knows what is going on. not trying to disrespect anybody, just some people want to say there was fiasco, and there wasnt, so explaining what happened. hopefully everybody all the way around got a lesson on this. if there isnt mistakes nobody can learn anything.

but once again the weight pull is disrespected as always, nobody gives weight pullers any respect or credit, but if it was easy everybody would be doing it.

  9. i guess the biggest thing i am trying to say, just cause you are new, dont have knowledge of the rules or what you are doing, dont disrespect a club and their hard work cause of your misunderstandings and start bad mouthing them or a problem that only one or two people had, cant make everybody happy but when there is 40 people pulling dogs and 2 people are unhappy, and the other 38 are happy, i guess it only means one thing.

I didnt want to have all this brought out here because as far as Im concerned its over and done with. No hard feelings here. However there is NO novice class in ADBA and that is what started the confusion. We are novice pullers but we didnt drive all the way down there not to get any points. You guys got me confused with someone else.

If you are referring to me, then no, I was not confused on what I was doing. I paid my 18 bucks and thought i was in the regular class. You guys thought i was in some non existant novice class. I was happy to wait til the class was over to find out how my dog did on sat but when someone said i wouldnt get any points and only paid ten bucks thats when i decided to go ask questions from someone that had the time to talk to me and it really just took off from there.

Thank you. I think they are good dogs too. We just wanted to make sure they would get any points coming to them.

I didnt want to assume anything. Thats why I started asking questions from people that could help me. I didnt want to have the wt pull interrupted. Unfortunately it was.

The only thing I asked you is how my dog did on Sat. and you said you would help me after the pull. I was ok with waiting on that. However when someone said I was a novice and wouldnt get any points thats when I decided to find out more from people that actually knew what the rules were. Since there is no novice class in ADBA you apparently made up the class to let someone else pull who didnt care if her dog got points. I do care. Somehow you got me confused with her. But again, I never meant for it to become a bigger problem than it was.
Thank you again for your help and no hard feelings from me. Im glad we were able to work it out. :D

Um..we werent complaining. We just wanted to make sure you guys understood that we were new to wt pulling but we still wanted our points. We did speak up. Dont ask us to speak up and then complain when we do. You guys asked who was a novice and we all waved our hands. lol. I think you confused novice pullers with some kind of novice class. Thats the problem. I had no idea there was some kind of made up novice class. If I did I would have made it clear I was not involved with that.
We were happy you were willing to work with us and not start the cart with a lot of wt for our inexperienced dogs. No one is saying its easy and no one is disrespecting wt pull.

There is no way we disrespected or bad mouthed anything. Now you are making stuff up. lol. I wasnt unhappy. I had a good time. I did see people whispering and looking at us. Whatever. It wasnt the club officials, so who cares. Let them say whatever they want.

  13. let me clarify, somebody was confused whether it be the puller or the registration table, and i will take some responsibility for that, there where a few people that came to me before the pull and i told them what to do. i didnt speak with scratchin dog before so i didnt know there was any confusion until the next day. if your dog would have placed we would have made everything right, sorry for any confusion with the pull, or taking any offense to my post. scratchin dog wasnt trying to call you out in anyway, should have clarified that for anybody new getting into pulling or going to shows whether it be confirmation or weight pull, if you have questions ask before show starts so there is no confusion. we appreciate you guys coming from NY,MD, NJ and anywhere else up there i missed. i personally am here for the sport to grow. i wish all of you success in up coming shows and no hard feelings. hopefully i can make it tri-state and support the club up there.

scratchin dog this what you posted.

this is what i was taking offense to.

Me and my daughter didn't go to the weightpull area and so knew nothing about any problems. Other than getting SOOOOOooooo sunburned Saturday we had a blast. The Georgia club did a great job putting on the show. The food was good and those guys hustled getting more food when they ran out. We left before the rain got there but it was at out house when we got home!
Wish I could have taken more pictures and met a few more people. We will def. be coming back in October!

  15. My girlfriend/partner, Crystal and a couple of other novice weight-pullers received dirty looks and other comments during the weight pull and the whole deal left a bad taste in my mouth

this was another post that i took offense to. i personally did not see any of this, as i was standing right there. this to me is disrespecting us, by saying something that didnt happen. im sorry felt uneasy and think anything was said bad about you, but only thing said was "she is new and dont realize she is not going to hurt her dog" as she stated. this came after we said the starting weight for the pull.
the weight we started with everydog was pulling under 9 secs the day before and the 9 sec pull was a 36lb dog, and majority of the dogs where pulling in 5 secs, the track was pulling easier for some reason when the pull started.
we take everything into consideration when figuring out starting weight. a note to anybody, when you are pulling keep up with your dogs weight it pulls and time, save each round and use this as a guide for the next day you are pulling, this will let you know when your dogs need to come in and when your dog is about to go out. like i stated before we are not trying to screw anybody or injure any dogs. you have the right to say something in the handlers meeting, and the judge can listen to what you say, he has the final say and if judge understands where you are coming from judge may change his mind, but dont have to. our judge did a great job, and was fair to everybody.

  17. thanks i know they busted their butts over there in the deer camp style kitchen they had set up.
i guess there was no problems just confusion. but was taken care of.

I had no doubt that things would have been taken care of and made right. It was a simple misunderstanding over the term novice. Thats all. We all asked questions before the pull and assumed we were in regular classes. We had no idea there was a novice class. Im sure we all learned from this and are more aware of how things work.

I never meant to bash the wt pull by my comment posted above. It was just unfortunate that there was so much confusion when we were just trying to have fun. No offense meant towards the wt pull crew. I had a good time pulling and look forward to pulling again with you guys. :D

I didn't even know that any of this stuff was going on at the weight pull. I thought it was one of the best pulls that I have been to. There was some great competition there. We had handlers meetings before each pull and all of the questions should have been answered there. But I think that we put on some of the best weight pulls down here in the old south.
