It isn't really nonsensical, the guy that made the post is a dumbass but the topic itself is only ruined because of the person who brought it up.

a great big dog wont loose to a smaller dog ,, if he had said a good big one beats a good little one 9/10 maybe that would make sense , its why people match at a top wt

Floyd never told you that, he's smarter than that. Second I'm sure you never spoke to him at all.

When Tito and Tano fought 1 of them was giving up like 20lbs, theoretically it would've been a complete stomp for the Tosa then?!?

Tosa? I'am on about APBT , giving away any more than 1lbs is probably too much if the bigger dogs is a real good dog ,,

Seriously guys. The examples guys are pulling out of their ..... dont make sense. That a good small dog can beat a good big one is possible, but the 9 times out 10 is in the totally opposite ratio.
To claim the legendary Floyd made such a statement to you personally is laughable. The opposite statement has been in print by other legends for decades if not a century but Floyd has never contradicted it ever yet you want us to believe Floyd suddenly does so to you personally .
    Yeah, pull the other one

I believe I'm correct in calling it nonsensical. Not interested in who the OP is or what his achieved but I dont believe its anything but nonsensical. Show me how that ratio is accurate in favour of the small dogs? Yes some great smaller ones pushed a big weight difference and won, but they are the exception and not the rule, as well as the fact that the larger opponents were almost never called good or great dogs themselves.

A Great Jagdterrier will beat a Great Doberman Pinscher. A Great Bull Terrier will beat a Great Irish Wolfhound, a Great APBT will beat a great English Mastiff. Unless it is the same breed, the point can be applied to a lot of dog matchups.

Lol not anymore he ain't. :))

Called you everything but white. While normally I'd let these little annoyances go, racial slurs of any kind will get one shown the door permanently.

Which true apbt dogman would match into other breeds and what has that got to do with a good (great) big apbt v a good (great) small apbt meeting? Unless this discussion is about different breeds facing off against each other. If so then I think its ludicrous to do so as it's like saying the mastiff is a great game dog

This is a topic that has always interested me, and I would like to ask some questions. Lets start from the fact that I don't know much about dogfighting. Never actively matched a dog, but I have seen some very good dogs go in...shall we say yard accidents, and I have seen my dogs go against different breeds because the owner of them was an idiot and let their dogs get into my yard.

I do know a LOT about human fighting (I most certainly was never good enough to fight in the UFC, or even as a pro, but I did well as an amateur) and when it come to humans, size makes a HUGE difference. I prepped some good fighters. There is a very good reason for weight categories. The Gracies used to peddle their memberships on the claim that a small man can easily beat a larger man, but that is bullshit to make money. Oh, and Renzo, who belted me and I use to teach for (at an affiliated school) would tell you straight up that it was bullshit. Renzo, love that guy, also produced more UFC and other champion than any other Gracies, so there is that. I was old as dirt (around 53) 220 lbs and I was still holding my own against pro fighters....who were 40 lbs smaller than me (the big ones would murder me) in stand up striking. I used to run a school in Upstate NY, right by the NY Giants camp, and pros would get cut and look for something to do. Pro football players are HUGE and athletic. Say 6 for 6 and 280. At first, sure, I would tap them left and right. But after a few months it became like grappling against a human wall. It was all about survival, and they were still white belts. I might catch them once in a 5 minute roll, and they were not punching me.

Now like I said, I don't know nearly as much about the dogs. I just know I love them. I have owned 4 and 2 had a ton of ability and 2 took serious whooping in yard accidents and wanted more as soon as they could walk again. So I guess they had at least little bit of gameness, but not much ability for a fast lane dog. However, I have seen my 2 dogs with what would be considered a soft mouth and not good enough for the fast lane take apart huge German Shepards and a Rott that got into my yard, a 60 lbs dog vs a 100 lb dog, and it wasn't even close. A breaking stick saved those dogs life. Whatching a real deal game bred dog go is like....holy shit!!!

On the other hand, I guy I knew who went to jail for fighting dogs (he probably did not have good dogs) also bred Dogos, and he said the Dogo would win, it was just too big. A while back there was a local guy at the car wash with a Mastiff, and he said his dog would beat any other dog. I had a son of crazy legs at the time (he bit HARD) and I was tempted to ask him if he wanted to find out, but thought better of it.

So I know, all things being equal, that a ch 60 lb fast lane Dao like Haunch would beat a champ 40 lb fast lane dog, but what would happen if that champ 60 lb dog went into that 150 lb Mastiff or 105 lb Dogo?

Oh, and lets get this out of the way: I have been on this forum long enough to know that I am going to get called a dumbs shit, bitch, cur, idiot...feel free to add to the insults, but once you do answer the question.

Yes...but why is it ludicrous? Ultimately, isn't the bottom line who would win? Of course the Mastiff isn't game, but what about the Mastiff owner who swears to you that his Mastiff will kill your little dog easily?
