Gould dogs off the Ken dogs?

Those cork white dogs fatman,my uncle and grandfather kept terriers exactly like that back in the day,before the black dogs hit the scene,and they dug eveything with them.

 

Still fair few around just need to know who was them.. Oldskool lads don't advertise or bother with Internet they just work their dogs

 

Or cash in on them to line their pockets lol

 

Where do you think most of those blokes got their stock from, the black un's that most folk think of are down off Nuttall.
I'm talking about the smooth coated bull headed dogs here and not the fell terrier types that are often labelled the same.

 

most of the terriermen in my area,never liked Nuttall dogs ,too small and im talking about men who bought them directly from him in the early 80s when they were supposedly at thier best.Nick stevens got his original dogs from the men in my area.

 

Nuttall dogs were too small in the 80's, not true at all mate. I should know pal, I had them first hand.

And where do you think those men will have got their dogs from, the smooth bull headed types were established by the Nuttall family.

Listen all im saying is this, all the terriermen i know in my area of south wales knocked them on the head,they were just to small and runty complete failures.I saw them with my own eyes.There will always be an exception or two.I saw dogs out of the likes of smithy etc who were the real deal.The nuttall dogs were so small they were bossed about by mr foxy,a pig would have eaten them alive lol.

 

I had a dog looked very similar to that,fuck knows how it was bred but deffo no nuttall,just worker to worker.

 

Im not disputing nuttall bred bull headed black terriers.

 

No offense intended if you got nuttall dogs that work for you,thats all that matters.

 

The Nuttall dogs are not once what they were.
The rumour is they became weedy because he was catering for the American market, what ever the reason they haven't been the quality of his early stuff for years now.

The man must be almost 90 now, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

My most recent terriers were down off some Welsh pig dogs, more of a fell type though but as game as they come.
