that same question was asked by myself on an english terrier forum and i was inundated with jobworthies demanding to know the true reason for my quest/ my interest with the cross....i tried to explain that my interest was purely 'interest' but it appears there is a witch hunt in the u.k associated with bullX lurchers....i would still like to see some though!

There the most popular lurcher cross in the u.k. Lots of garbage outhere owned by idiot wannabes. Got to be the best cross outhere for hunting creatures that bite back

I got a question though, what do they hunt?

Kind of cool dogs to look at though! They are like super buff greyhounds lol wonder what their temperament is like..

Thats pretty neat, they look like a serious hunting dog though. I bet it would be a trip to see them go after a deer!

Put it this way you guys over the pond could easily create better bulldog x greyhounds than over here as you guys have much better bulldogs

You guys have much better lurchers! I would like to see a mesh of the best lurchers from over the pond breed to intelligent hunting gamedogs. The program of the long dogs are pretty good but only with hunting coyotes as a pack, the lurcher thing is still in beginning stages in states, use but not as often as I would like to see. I plan on doing this breeding once we get a litter off my best dog to a bulldog and then we are going to breed her to stag, pretty excited for the cross with them both being good hunters, seen the patterdale cross with my bull blood of a half sister to my dog and that has produce great hunters so hoping for the same but we can breed to lab with my bull blood and get dogs LOL!

make great dogs in right hands and from tested stock and surprisingly not THAT dog aggressive as a whole maybe its because there hunted with other dogs terriers and that. got a young one myself and got a good male greyhound here thats working very well taking what the other dogs were bred for just got to find the right bitch

The lurcher game is strong over here, but fox hunting over here is now banned and that's where the bull crosses come into their own. The bulldogs over there are much better than over here so any cross you make will be better.

Anyone know the hunting laws with dogs in the uk at this current time then? Foxes are a no go I know this much but deer, rabbits and so on...?

The bulldog definitely gives some charm to the greyhound. I'd love to see those things go after game.

    Here's a couple :)

    One more !

I would love to own one of those if I didn't own cats, although the guy that owns these dogs in the UK uses ferrets working as a team with the lurchers to hunt Bunnies.
  18. Those dogs look very impressive.

The only thing since the ban you can hunt with lurchers legally is rats and rabbits. Ban, what ban? :)
