Hydrogen Peroxide?

I hear mixed reviews about Hydrogen Peroxide these days. I use it on myself to fight infection quite a bit, but now I'm hearing you should only use it once to clean a wound, then switch to an antibiotic cream. I'm hearing the same thing said regarding dog wounds.

    Any thoughts???

It is a very good cleanser, but it should only be used to clean the wound the first time. I actually use a 50/50 Peroxide/Betadine mix. After that I use straight Betadine as a cleanser.Hydrogen Peroxide, from what I understand, will kill healthy tissue as well.

that is correct.. peroxide will kill the healthy tissues that are trying to regrow. and per my vet sould only be used to clean then use either iodine or betadine after that to flush the area with. and actually with the goats, after the initial peroxide use i flush the wound with i only flush with twin pen after that.
