I’ve been adding raw, fermented goats milk to feed periodically. A litter I recently sold got some almost daily. I think it’s a superfood. Pups left here super strong and healthy.
Adding real meat, eggs etc to kibble has been effective for me too. No issues mixing them.

Chicken fat is ambrosia from heaven for dogs mate, I put it in same category as green tripe, pure nectar! Mix with kibble, brown rice, whole meal bread and other stuff, just high octane fuel man!

  8. Chicken fat is awesome man.
    all fat is really.
I remeber these mick racers when i was growing up, and they swore by lamb fat.
guess racing and fighting is diffrent.however some fights go on and on.and so do micks racing.
they told me lamb fat was good for a long race.grain was good for a short one.
probs means nothing,as these guys were far from nutritionists.but they had fucking good Micks.

  9. Now i think, me grandad used lamb fat in his feeds for his Micks to.not sure if he rated it,but the guys i grew with up did.

  10. Gotta say that Lamb is a fatty meat in gereral anyways.
when ever i use lamb in a soup or stew, then that soup or stew has a lot more fat then say a beef stew or chicken stew.

And pork to.thats fatty..i no some people wont entertain it for there dogs, but i find pork great feed, and ive never had a problem with it.

Ive been feeding mine wainwrights salmon and potato as some of mine have allergys ... £37 a bag ...but real good stuff

  12. dont do kibbles to be honest.
i think that pro plan and that wainrights is fucking shite.

It just dont work for me.
if it works for yourselfs then thats all that matters.im not putting anybodys feed down here guys.each to there own and its totally up to you what you feed your dogs.(no body buisness, but yours)

    If it works it works.....

And even though i think its crap....@Oldguy its a hell of a lot better then that one you used in the 80s lol.that one you said mate sounds unbelivebly terrible.sounds worser then that wag in the green sack.

Ive fed wag in the past..full of dies and all kinds of shite.

Not knocking nobodys food-i admit to feeding everything wen ive had to.
    littery everything...

Ive never fed em rats or crows.lol.wag or that one from the 80 Oldguy is probs worser then rat or crow lmao.

As i said.im not knocking no bodys feed plans.
its intresting to here what people use.its good insight.

Remember kk saying he found no difference in kibble or raw feed when conditioning ... my old mate was best pals with dr d and said he fed eukanuba ... its like everything you use it as your meat and two veg :) then add your own extras ... old spray fed kibble and i’d never seen dogs fitter and in better shapethan his .... his wasnt the best either like as he was as tight as as a camels arse in a sandstorm lol

Like my mate always says who's conditioned more than most ( not dogs ) its about looking after them 365 days a year not just a keep !

This goes right back to the ‘Mentor’ topic.
You need to feed a performance dog protein and fat, carbs are going to make the animal run hot.
Sparky Hermès, Sonny Sykes and a few others I won’t mention because they are still alive were world class conditioners.
We would have conversations daily about feed and conditioning. These were smart guys who had been in the dogs for decades and they were still learning, still trying to improve and do things better.
I learned things from them, took that knowledge and in turn gave it right back to them, we learned from each other.
We all wanted better dogs, better conditioning and better outcomes in our breedings.
There would never have been a WCC without Sonny. Sonny knew which dogs were key and how they should be bred.
One thing all these men will tell you is I had a partner who had the knowledge and the will regarding nutrition and conditioning to really dig deep and see what was possible with these dogs.
Because of her hard work some great conditioners upped their game. Ask anyone who knows or who saw one go that Sparky shaped. He could beat you fast or he could weather your storm and take you into what he called ‘deep waters’
When Spark had a good one he was almost impossible to beat.
He got that good because he kept on learning.
The whole reason for mentoring is to improve the breed and to improve the game.
Selling books, selling dogs, that’s peddling not mentoring.
Nothing wrong with making a buck but it’s not mentoring.

if both dogs are fed kibble then it’ll be an even match.
I will tell you and I’ve seen it hundreds of times. A dog with the proper amount and type of fat and protein in its diet will run cooler and recover faster. Get hot and take the bottom against a conditioned game dog and it’s over. If you’re fed a lot of carbs (kibble) you’re going to get hot in 15-30 minutes if not sooner.
You did not want to be on the receiving end of what a dog such as Willy or Silk could dish out (just to name 2 good dogs) as they had the ability to completely defeat an opponent in short order. Take the bottom=you lose.
Feed carbs to 2 dogs and let em go and you’ll get laying around out of holds, dogs dazed in the corner not knowing where they are at or where they’re going, humping, slow hesitant scratches and finally one or both standing in the corner completely gassed with a heart rate 300+ with no chance of recovery.
I’ve seen a lot of good dogs and a lot of shit dogs but the sad thing is I’ve seen good dogs done bad, never had a chance. That’s not just bad conditioning it’s a waste of a good animal.

Benthere ...no doubt feeding is key but u cant make a good dog out of feeding alone ... scotsmans max was good one overhete and was fed on a poor diet as@oldguy will confirm and it didnt make him a bad dog !
