I would gladly travel the extra distance for better camping as long as its not more expensive, New Lennox camping was almost as much as a hotel and there wasn't electricity or showers. As for how many shows, the more the merrier lol. People are more apt to travel if its worth it, 3-4 shows per weekend, make it worth their gas money. We'd love to help out if we can, we're about 3 hours away but money is really tight so I can't say for sure. Keep us updated.

2012 is at same place we're picking judges we want 1 guy and 1 lady and i guess it would be the right thing to do 1 judge who throws gameness in with his pic and 1 say more civilized picker ,, i belive it's a 2 show weekend and it's in june i think ,,, we are collecting raffel stuff and one of the guys will be makeing several wall plaques and picture frames for the raffle and judges gifts ,, and judges you will be haveing dinner at tuscany on taylor street the same location where joe corvinos black smith shop stood and so many great dogs stood were born and more then likley you know, dog man greats hung out there but that was then now it's a italian steak house ,,, we liked iowa's idea red white blue and black

So it's only going to be a 2-show weekend again? Not sure what you mean about the 2 "different" judges. They should all be judging by the standard.

whatever you know judges have a tweek to their own style we want 1 judge to be milder just like in ok the 2nd judge the old ladies had their moment of glory i'm sure that will keep them interested through 2012 and i'll add in ok he piced a few dogs that were probally cur a little bit of tail between the legs not the whole thing just a few at the time it bothered me but it doesn't anymore , i will tell the pres of the club that it's beeing insisted on to add a third show ,, you guys like more then 2 shows beacause you have a better chance on getting over 75 dogs so we can get rank points right ??? here i thaught about it for 10 more seconds i'll call it the judges background ,, i wish that judge from 10 years ago was able to judge the judge thats in the state north of il ,,

The additional shows don't matter to me as far as ranking points. It makes the trip more worthwhile if it's more than 2 shows. But with that said, the judges matter too. If I know up front that "different" judges are going to be picked to purposely give different people a chance at placing, I'll probably skip that show anyway.

As far as the shows go, you have to think that if you have a 2 show weekend and another club has a 3 or 4 show weekend (either on the same weekend or close to each other), you risk losing people to that other show.

Just so you know, not trying to come down on you or anything! If anything, trying to let you know how a prospective show-goer feels about your show plans. We don't chase certain judges, we just show in hopes that the judges are fair and to the standard. But again, if we know that there's another reason for choosing said judges, it's not worthwhile.

  11. She has a very valid point on the extra show. People don't choose it for ranking points, they choose it because it gives you another opportunity to show your dog without traveling another weekend. The MO club used to only have 2 shows all the time and the past 2 years have added the extra show on Saturday. It seems the turnout has been great because of it. IMO adding a 4th on Sunday is great for the die hard show people, but it seems usually the number of entries is down because a lot of people leave anyway wanting to get home. For me a 4th is great because I will def stay, but I don't know if it benefits the club due to lower numbers. Adding the 2nd show on Saturday though is definitely a great idea.

I agree, I wouldn't travel much for only 2 shows. 3 maybe and 4 definitely. The worst part about the events is the travel imo. The shows are the fun part, so I'm weighing if the travel outweighs the amount of shows. I'd say at least 3, I've skipped every show that has only had 2

3rd and 4th shows are a big draw, its the first thing we consider when picking shows to go to. June sounds better than August, it sucks showing in 100 degree heat. The only drawback I see is if MI has its show in June and they're the same weekend or back to back.

we're tryin to find a judges list but can't we want judges we never or only had once male and female with out having to fly in from over seas if that were a option we'd try for the guy who judged the nationals a few years back

ok the guys and girls asked me to ask if anyone has a link to get a judges list ,, whatever i posted above is nulled ,, the #1 thing they insist on in pic's is to have a judge they never had before male and female ,,, if someone can pm me a link of a current adba judges list please do so? we won't ask about their style it's not a factor at all now that we accept playing beat the judge in florida we kind of want to play chase the judges that score us low or never had before in the 2012 season YES WE WANT TO DO IT THE HARD WAY ..thats all for now

There is a list of judges but the adba won't give a list out. Just call a couple of the clubs that put on shows this past year and get a good list of judges. Because when you submit your packet to the adba, concerning having a show, you need to list at least four judges your interested in. Then they contact the judges and let you know which ones on your list are available for your show. Hope this helps.

Your posts are VERY difficult to understand. Are you a board member of the club? I don't think you can INSIST on anything. It has to be approved by ADBA.
