is zebo's pedigree real

that's funny...mr clemmons retired months ago.., and dricker recently got out of dogs...so neither one of them are sticking anything. Clemmons dogs went to the few he knew well and they arent using any lonzo blood either. Mr C 's dogs were eli/boze dogs via sixbits and maverick.

 

Well, it would see the story by Barney Fife that I read was a tad bit slanted. You never know when someone has an ax to grind but he sure would seem to be wrong about Zebo crosses.

I hate to be a party pooper, but Mr. C.'s dogs are not just Eli/Boze crosses. They most also have a good bit of Zebo in them via Clemmons ' Nigger Toby (Zebo x Clemmon's Pepper).

 

Yes, i know nigger toby and how he's bred....I was stating well before he retired the dogs mr C was sticking had no added zebo or any other blood beyond sixbits/maverick dogs (eli/boze), sure his blood has zebo in it via nigger toby through black jett, black flash, black smoke, gloria etc. and nothing more than 1 or maybe 2x will zebo show up in any of clemmons dogs peds.
Sure he had a few good ones off nigger toby look at eli shadow for instance but you wont see much eli shadow if at all in he current dogs, and you wont see zebo within five gens of current clemmons dogs(ie. sonny, durango, jackyl, spook, etc. and again in that 4-5 gens he may appear once maybe 2x and I wouldnt say that's a GOOD BIT do you consider that a significant amount of zebo blood to not call his dogs eli/boze dogs...one time in an entire ped? Call the old man yourself and ask him what blood his dogs are. I'll tell ya right now what he'll say...ELI/BOZE.
Attached is a ped of 1 i have....zebo is brought in 1x via black smoke in the 4 gen and it's the only time it appears on that entire ped. Not much else of what Mr. C bred differs. Take care.

 

You are correct in saying that he has not brought in any new Zebo blood. But the fact remains he still infused Zebo blood into his line & good dogs were produced from it. He may not have bred back to the Zebo blood, but why would he have to if his Six Bits/Mav./Toby dogs were getting it done?

As for the dogs themselves, I have seen "Clemmons dogs" that were very heavy Toby, but I don't think Mr. C owned/bred them.

BTW, that is a very well bred dog you've got there. Love that ped!

BTW, years ago I bred her to a double bred son of Six Bits & got some real nice dogs!

 

Tks on the ped comment...I like that double bred toby maverick cross you have... interesting i just mentioned shadow in my previous post and you have grandoffspring of his. Todays best toby dogs are coming by the ways of CT through dogs off mississippi queen. Now that sonny is there as well you may see heavier toby sixbits dogs.

mr c bred alot of dogs and some great ones in the past and present and some that many dont know about or that he gets all the credit for such as carvers black shine and eli jr etc. I trust the man in his judgement on dogs and what i was told was the best cross to go with was eli/boze or with sixbits dogs cross with eli. Sure NT was sired by zebo but the dam was and eli bitch...and depending who you talk to zebo was off eli as well. Take care.

 

Yeah, there are a lot of folks who think Zebo was off Eli. I do not think he was myself as Zebo was the spitting image of his sire Andy. But the way dogmen of old shuffled papers, you never know ...

i've heard it to be completely fake, JC says the late Mr. Pratt himself said Zebo was not bred the way everyone thinks. that's good enough for ME. what region of the country was Eli stolen from also?

 

I love topics like this because most people, if not all are speaking from what they hear and not what they see. How many have any experience at all with this blood, i could maybe think of a few on this board that may have. I have a Lonzo dog and i loved it when people would say " Oh thats a Lonzo dog, he aint shit. That blood don't work." i would love it because it just made it that much better when i looked at their face after it was all said and done. Do i believe in running it pure, No, but for many of those that say the blood is no good truely have no opinion based on experience with the line. At this point, it would be dumb to post any wins these days, and i know of a few that are winning and have won in the last few months. At the end of the day to each his own, but there is no line that throws all winners and there is no line that throws all losers. I've had many dogs of various bloodlines from high percentages to low, and my Lonzo dog is by far the best dog i have ever owned, and the statement about 30 minute curs, thats funny, as i heard that before and 52 minutes later i got a different story. " that aint no lonzo dog, he aint bred the way you say, i aint seen one like that" . He aint the best, but he's damn good. ( i hope i didn't break any rules in this thread, i didn't mean to, if i did. Sorry)
