We also put goats milk on their food, and worm weekly with Nemex starting at 10 days old, along with worming the mom then and bi weekly.....also, prior to breeding.....as far as breaking down the pasterns, anythings possible, however we have never really noticed by having chunky pups a problem....generally, they are either good and up on their pasterns or their not...

I just blend the puppy food into sort of a milk shake and let them go to town...LOL..Once they start crunching the kibble i leave a large bowl full and let them eat as they please. Keep wormings and shots on schedule and pups should do good. I worm with pyran, and keep the puppy area clean and free of waste ...with good care pups should thrive..

I use evaporated goats milk with some whole fat yogurt( good bacteria gets introduced to the intestines, very good for the pups) and egg yolks, never egg whites Ive heard it can cataracts in pups.Pour over pups food, and theyll love it.I also used this to supplement, hand raise some pups a mother refused to feed and it worked very well, no diarrhea, and pups were huge.:)

I recently used CNI Nurture on a litter of 12 that was real hard for momma to keep fed. They did VERY well off of it and gained weight a lot faster being supplemented with puppy gruel. I'll be using it from now on with any litter. I mixed it with natural yogurt (no preservatives, sugar, etc etc) and some high quality feed and the pups did VERY well off of it. www.getcni.com sells the products...

  12. stop feeding weight gainers when the dog is at the correct weight. You should not be able to see the spine and vaguely see rib cage. I usually fatten mine up more in the winter where I cannot see the ribs at all and they have a little belly on them.

  13. good puppy dog food is the only one thing that is good for a normal pup. worm with ivomec once a month and shots as required.

  14. Ok when i breed my Chows we keep weight on the puppies by wet dog food store bought puppy milk geen (peas ect) and oatmeal. Now i knoe pit bulls are different my females pit lost weight and we have tried most the things people have said and she barely inching back on weight. The Vet has cleared her of any health problems which is a must the vet and i have come up with believe it or not homecooking meals for her. As for free feeding i will say with chow chow you can not do that they will eat theirself in to being overwieght.

  15. diazanon almost killed my dog because she ate the grass.. best for puppies no grass easy clean dusty area .. treat wait till its done its job .. use play sand .. easy to rake and pick up poop ...

Man lot of yall have had puppies..wow that is crazy....anyhow dried goat milk and cottage combo in their kibble is a good mix and also you can add a little olive oil for their skin and some good fats and other things that plump them up are in the olive oil...

  17. for a pup that is picky do go ahead and make its food.. i left a really good recipe for that .. basically chicken livers , a wee bit of garlic , olive oil egg yolks and some fiber from organic brown rice , ground corn or even the pasta tht is with fiber , or sweet potatoes ..you might add some green beans to that, and organic yogurt.. it will be very rewarding when your baby is all healthy,, a favorite is salmon and sweet potatoe.. lol ,, need to write doggie food cook book.. start there and work your way to to a balanced dog food for your pet once pet is feeding readily sneak in a few nicely wet and soft dog kibble ,, a lil more every third day.. till puppy accepts kibble a little wet due to little teeth you know.. then dry it up as time goes by..dont anyone go crazy on the veggies some are full of sugar and dogs dont need sugar like peas and carrots , i do feed it but not alot..

I simply use goat milk. It is the best out there for this application.
